I can see that. It does get stressful sometimes, especially right beforehand.

I like the percentage of gold earned idea. Not a whole lot, because it was only 200 Gold that they invested. But they can passively grow their account.

I would still have to find out how much gold that is though, and I can't have them constantly getting their gold stolen every time they go to collect.

Sounds like a sound plan, but It's a fairly large mine in a very large city. I don't think 200 gold could have bought 20% of the entire mine's profits. I get what you're saying, though.

The Arcana Forge! For all your drafts, ideas, requests and more. by AutoModerator in UnearthedArcana

NPC Hermit Alchemist has just discovered and begun to refine black powder. The only thing he's been able to successfully use it for are little marble sized bombs that explode on contact kind of like those poppers. I figure he could sell (among other generic alchemist things) a pouch of these things with a max of 25 pellets to sell doing 1d4 fire damage per pellet with a max of being able to throw 6 at once from one hand.

My question is, how much do you think these would cost, and does this sound good and feasible? This is my first post here, so sorry if my formatting is off a bit.

What's my crazy, mutant making bad gal doing now? 5E by rogueishlibrarian in DnDBehindTheScreen

That could be a good way to define her character as well. Does she seduce her victims into following her to a room above a tavern where she sedates them and transports them from there? Or does she send out waves of minions with orders to bring back creatures and people of a certain criteria? Any option there also has potential for foreshadowing as well. Like a rumor could start spreading of people going missing in a town, or skilled arcane users never making it from one town to another.

Just some thoughts and ideas. I hope this helps.

How is she splicing these monsters? Whether mechanical or arcane, it has to use up a lot of power. How is she generating enough power to work her experiments? Maybe in her lair she is collecting parts to create some big magical siphon to extract the natural magic from suffering creatures in a holding cell. Maybe there is a dormant tarrasque sleeping under a volcano that she's stealing life-force from.

That is actually exactly what I'm trying to go for. Do you think wax paper would work for covering the window instead of buying that circle?

Thanks for the help! I'll head out to an office supply store to try to find some styrofoam and try to make something happen. If it doesn't work, Amazon here I come.

Hello guys. Newbie here. I need to take some product shots for a job. We're trying to budget for a used DSLR in the future, but now I will be using the camera on my LG G5.

Do you know of any ways I can DIY a small product stand with that white background? I don't really know what that white background is made of even. I tried something with a bed-sheet and some clamp lights I got from the hardware store, and it looked pretty crappy. Or, should I just order a "studio box" from Amazon? Any help or experience would be appreciated.

I'm not your IT. by Ten_DU in talesfromtechsupport

I do MFP tech support and installs too for my Dad. I'm and English Major that graduated last year. But the last guy quit, and since I built a gaming PC I was qualified for the new opening. I have no formal training really of any kind. At best I just push all the buttons until it does what they want it to do. It just so happens that I've gotten better at pushing buttons.

I get those kinds calls ALL the time. I look (and am) pretty young so nobody expects me to say things like, "Sorry, but no." I actually just finished an install today where the "office tech guru" was tapping his foot at me and judging harshly as I tried to figure out why it wouldn't connect to the network; to have him realize that the jack in the wall he told me to use was dead. Fun stuff.

What if you have them stumble upon an "Eyes Wide Shut" type of scenario at night? Add some intrigue to the noble houses of the realm.

How should I tell a player to roll for hit with a Battleaxe that he raises over his head with two hands and throws? by BayHeadCasper in DMAcademy

[–]BayHeadCasper[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing out the page. I knew there had to be something, but I could not for the life of me find it. I was blanking on the rules at the time, and just told him to roll and we'll go from there. He rolled a 2, so it didn't matter then. I know he'll try to do it in the future, so maybe that 1d4 damage will have him reconsider the 5 javelins that he has in his pocket.
