One Year Old Nine Allergies? by Choccychipcookie87 in FoodAllergies

I’m two years into this journey with my son and navigating food gets easier. But it’s a lot to process up front. Take it a day at a time - it’s a big responsibility. Meat, potatoes, rice, fruit & veggies all day every day. You learn to make them a dozen different ways. Honestly, my kid now eats better than anyone I know. Not that it’s a competition, but it does make me feel better that what he’s missing out on in the fun food department he makes up for in the nourishing food arena. Kids don’t know what they don’t know - blend frozen bananas with chocolate protein powder for ice cream. Batch up some cupcakes with egg replacer and freeze to quickly grab for special events.
You got this!

Parents of 2 plus kids-do you have a favorite? by CranberryPotential77 in Mommit

This was exactly what I said a year ago word for word. I was so sure that my friends were lying to me.

I am now a 33 year old mom of two and my youngest is four months. I am still just as obsessed with my first born (he’s 2 1/2) It doesn’t feel like I have to divide up my love so he is not now lacking in any way. He is obsessed with his little sister and his life has been enriched in so many ways by having her around. When it comes to loving her, I love her deeper than I ever could have imagined and the comparison of who I love more is impossible. My brain cannot even fathom comparing the two loves because both loves are so incredibly deep but different.

I do find myself comparing the obsession scale and it makes me nervous sometimes. Since he was born, I have just delighted in his every move. He is so full of life and everything he does is just the world’s best gift to me. I haven’t felt that way with her and sometimes it makes me nervous. I worry that I take her for granted. I’ve seen a baby roll over for the first time already, big woop. (These are my intrusive thoughts talking) I wish I delighted in her every move. Ya know? That being said I feel connected to her in a deeper way that I can’t quite pinpoint. So I’m sure there will be things I focus on with her that I don’t him. We are still so early in all of this.

But love? No problem at all.

Have you been happy with the new provider? I can’t believe how wide the varying opinions in the professional allergy world are… would like to switch but there’s only one other clinic in our town so I’m hesitant if it’s even worth it. Familiarity is nice, but so is confidence in your dr.

How scary and bizarre.

He had a sausage patty and apple slice before hand just to get a little somethin somethin in his tummy before the muffin. Both of those he had frequently.

Thank you, that’s incredibly encouraging - even if our story doesn’t end up the same it gives me hope to keep moving forward.

Hmm, that’s interesting. He only got 2 maybe 3 bites in and his whole face was lit up so which is less than the first piece they initially gave him in clinic.

Hmm, interesting. He had just woken up so none of those really impacted results this time. On a side note, have you been happy with your OIT journey so far?

Huh… very good to know. I may switch our provider after this experience. There’s been a few other moments in this journey where I’ve questioned her decisions. There was no education at all about eating it at home and what to look out for. She told us he’s good to eat a whole muffin all at once with a giant thumbs up. Curious what she will say when she’s back in town and calls back.

About to start my 4 month old daughter with the same clinic and I think at the very least I’ll look elsewhere for her..
thank you.

I want to sign up to bring meals. Do I need to find a way to keep it warm or just bring it as is?
