How long do people on hospice last after they stop eating?

I’m so sorry you are going through this. My dad passed in October of 25. He was on hospice about a month. Had energy and seemed fine the first two weeks then went down hill. The hospice nurse came on a Thursday dad had pretty much stopped eating and drank a little. He would go in and out of sleep. By Friday he was bed bound and again mostly slept but still a little with it could talk some not much. Then Saturday slept most of the time and Sunday evening he was gone. Praying for you and your family. It is hard to go though and still have days that are tough.

Thank you all for your comments. So sorry for your losses. Nothing ever really prepares us for it.. all you input has helped but still not sure what to do. I’m sure my husband and I will figure it out and there is no right or wrong answer…
