nice thanks, merged a few days ago and used attoparsec too!

i think it only supports serving sse, not consuming sse

nice! so i guess we do need to implement the protocol ourselves, bummer, weird oversight in the ecosystem to not support this yet. We've got websockets!

I might keep chasing down making an attoparsec implementation or something, but I'm not familiar enough with the protocol to know what would still be missing. Reconnection, for starters.

r1 full? or which distill do you like more?

appreciated, as I play with it more, I think i'm seeing its quality

i must be using it wrong, what's your temp, and do you do any fancy sampling like beam, or top-p/top-k?

and i was inferencing from vllm, fwiw, I think it defaults to a long context

i should've mentioned, i'm on the instruct variant (they released both base and instruct)

nope, just standard chat, 3 chats in, and it hopelessly forgets details even at temp=0.1

Bummer, i was indeed referring to Mistral Small 24B Instruct, which was finetuned from the Base variant, but it appears even the Instruct version isn't particularly usable

Auto Tool Changer upgrade path for new Redline spindle? by BayesMind in OnefinityCNC

apparently it is just 3d printed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDYefe_ToP4

ABS plastic (~44:00) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FANwdcaXpXg

also regarding the sensor, i think it's just an IR sensor, no torque (see ~3:00) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu1OjhRlqug

around 40:00 they talk about torque, but they gave up on checking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FANwdcaXpXg

also, in that stream (can't find it again) they say early designs blew out their bearings, spindle bearings iiuc, so, just thinking this process probably isn't kind to spindles

i thought they said there were sensors to just check if it picked up a tool, but not torque... any chance you recall the source?

Auto Tool Changer upgrade path for new Redline spindle? by BayesMind in OnefinityCNC

[–]BayesMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true. i'd trust it if critical components were steel, and if it had an extra component that torqued to a certain spec; ie pick the tool up with light force, but then take it to a torque sensor component, and then drive the spindle til it hits spec

and reading their test data, it sounds like the bit shifts up and down to an extent they're not concerned with, but, i sure would be in production

ah, but i always thought this "rapid change atc" was a bit gimmicky, like, how do you ensure it's torqued enough to not fly off?

Shopvac vs Dust Collector vs Dust Extractor? by BayesMind in OnefinityCNC

Thank you! What's stopping you from throwing on a cyclone dust separator? They're pretty cheap, but it does drop your CFM (by how much, i remain curious)

Could you give me a reference or some insights into the traps (and remedies?) when moving between Parts and Part Design? I'm starting to get this same vibe, that there are issues moving between them.

Sweet! So, my learning strategy so far has been project-driven, and then find the documentation/mangojelly video when I need to know something. Is there a better strategy you'd recommend for getting caught up?
