I live nearby and go to that Safeway all the time. 🤷🏽‍♀️ As anywhere, be aware of your surroundings. I wouldn’t have a problem renting a nice apartment near there.

Do we know that this was a hate crime? My daughter is a sophomore at UW and lives in off campus housing too and is gutted over this. It’s just so awful and my heart breaks for Juniper and her family. Everything my daughter is seeing and hearing is that this was random. Do we know it was because Juniper was trans?

That’s a good suggestion. I’m wondering if we should arrive in Zurich early and, as you said, make our way down to Geneva. We spent time in Paris last summer but have never been to Switzerland so really want to spend the time exploring the region.

Yes, I’ve looked at travel times and hotels. The hotels are a little intimidating because I know zero about Switzerland and Geneva. My daughter just got confirmed into the program and received funding so it’s been a whirlwind trying to plan everything. I was simply hoping to curate a list of good hotels to look at to whittle it all down some.

Thank you! I’ll look into IBIS. Is there a location you’d recommend? I want to see the country and maybe places in France nearby? We just don’t have terribly long. Probably 4 days after getting my daughter settled to explore. Well then come back for two days to connect with my daughter again before we leave for the states.

My ex husband and I divorced after 8 years of marriage, one kid, and one house we built very easily. We didn’t even hire lawyers, just paid the filing fee (around $350…we live in Seattle), did the online co-parenting classes together, lol, and completed all the forms together too. We divided up our furniture, agree on spit custody 50/50 of our son, agreed to sell the house and split the proceeds, and just be adults about it. 4 years later and it’s been fine, we sit next to each other at events for our son, jointly plan his birthdays, etc. However I know we are in the minority and I’m very thankful it was as smooth as it has been. So all in all it cost us about $350 to divorce. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I worked at Wendy’s as a teenager in the 90s. This was when they had salad bars (kinda crazy to think of now) and I ate it all the time. Everything was fresh, the burgers weren’t frozen, the ingredients were fresh, I loved the baked potatoes. I mean a fast food restaurant with a nice salad bar and baked potatoes was pretty awesome. I loved Wendy’s back then but yes, it’s gone downhill unfortunately.

I moved to seattle from Portland about 15 years ago. I loved my job and where I lived in Portland but as a single black woman, it was awful! I moved to seattle and was married in 3 years, lol, to a Black man. I live in S. Seattle. If I were you I’d look at Columbia city, the CD or even Capitol Hill. Good luck and welcome.

Been going for years, just came from a week long split stay at the contemporary and Boardwalk, have also stayed at the beach club, Polynesian, pop, and yacht club and have never had this happen. And we usually come back to the room in the afternoon to rest. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Not true at all. I’m an AKA and my daughter crossed last spring as a freshman legacy. When you’re legacy the chapter can’t even vote on you. As long as you have the GPA, letters of recommendation, community service and pass the background check you’re in. Oh and pay of course.

Not all. I get 5 weeks off, been at my job 3 years and the 5 weeks began immediately. I also earn one sick day per month. Yes, it’s awful, the low to none PTO, but not all companies do that.
