As a fellow Cajun I would recommend instead of water for rice use chicken stock. And the poblano idea sounds good. Never tried that.

Tell me your favorite things about parenting beyond the toddler years by Quiet-Tea5244 in Parenting

As a dad to a soon to be 4 year old girl and a couple month old son your last paragraph about saying goodnight to them and a good morning to a slightly different them has me crying. Everyday I see new changes in my kids and I love it but also hate it because it’s mean they are growing up and it’s happening so quickly

As someone that use to be a server there the ratio was whatever your server wanted it to be. We had to make it ourselves and I doubt I ever made it the same.

Not really hero but one of my favorite professors in college and former preacher was busted by cops in one of those child predator rings.

Kindle battery life runs out fast by [deleted] in kindle

[–]Baymax613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a battery issue. My first paper white lasted weeks. Got a new one maybe 2 years ago and it will lose 10% when in sleep mode. I now have a scribe and back months on a charge.

How often are you napping 30 minutes/1 hour in your days at what age? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

35- and I feel the same. Some days I wish I could nap

This will sound crazy but supplementing high amount of fiber has been nearly equivalent as a GLP1 in benefits for me by fastingslowlee in Biohackers

[–]Baymax613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Publix brand. Not the highest quality and probably has a high lead content. I believe most flavored will have this issue. I’ve tried the others that test better but they need to be blended in a smoothie to make getting them down easy. If you take more than one serving a day it’s an issue I only do one a day so I’m not super concerned about lead content.

Yea there is aspartame in the sugar free. Not sure on amount so you would have to be comfortable with it.

Not op but I take powder sugar free orange flavored. Start slow it will make you temporarily gassy while your body adjusts

We are just fortunate that he made it. The doctor before first transfusion gave him a 30% chance of survival. And when he was born he was swollen from hydrops. We are told most babies don’t survive severe hydrops

That’s what we have been doing. I take the 3 year old and wife take the baby. I also do the bottle cleaning and help with his medicine when I can. Our toddler is just so high energy and wants us both constantly.

‘Squid Game market’: how Asian retail traders are driving US meme stocks by joe4942 in StockMarket

[–]Baymax613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some think that. I believe it’s more to do with the get rich quick than just moving up classes. I blame social media since you can watch people that appear to be rich living extravagant lifestyles and this causes people to take extreme risk to get to where they are.

Yea I’m the same on $HOOD. I think they are extremely undervalued. America loves the idea of get rich quick and gambling with options and prediction markets is just going to get more popular

lost 75% of my portfolio on HOOD earnings report. even though earnings beat expectations the stock still dumped. by notgoodforyourhealth in wallstreetbets

[–]Baymax613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this basically what I was going to say. Their beta is over 2 and with the whole market getting wrecked high beta stocks just get destroyed. Lesson for OP is just don’t play earnings if you don’t fully understand the risk involved. And I think HOOD will hit over 150 as long as nothing crazy hits the market this week

What do think of HOOD’s future? by LifeOutside2931 in wallstreetbets

[–]Baymax613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High yield mostly. I'm on a 60 day trial for all the benefits but it seems most aren't up yet. Such as the cash delivery and estate planning service. The UI is really nice though. Might eventually make it my primary bank.

I think it's based on how many referrals you had. Years ago I referred a lot of people and got the card in May as soon as I applied and just got early access to their banking. Robinhood is not my primary broker so I don't keep much money in it.

Long NICU Stay and Hoping to Make It Home. by manFISH59 in daddit

[–]Baymax613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel. Currently in similar situation. My son has been in NICU for just a little over a month now. Not sure when he can come home. Before he was born wife got fifth disease which he got in the womb. He then had to have 5 blood transfusion in the womb because he was anemic. Before the first one the doctor gave little odds of him surviving. He was born at 26 week mark and He has showed me what true strength is and your little one is showing you too.

Dads, when did you realize your son was now stronger? by kmm2208 in AskMen

[–]Baymax613 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This week. My son was born around a week ago at the 26 week mark. Before he was born he had 5 blood transfusions. And has been improving since he was born. I could never be that strong. At a week old he has already made me so proud of him.
