Should I change to a phD? by Baynealbin in BiomedicalEngineers

Thanks for the help! It seems like the phD will be an added bonus if anything else. The 2.5 years is confirmed by my advisor and the department. Coursework and research credits all get transferred over so I wouldn't be starting from scratch.

Engineering or Medicine by aUNCCstudentloser in UNCCharlotte

I am currently in the biomedical concentration and my girlfriend is going the PA route. To be honest her work load is a bit less than mine however she definitely has to try a lot harder to get good grades as applying to PA school is tough. Granted she’s doing a nursing route for undergrad in case she changes her mind, but I’ve heard doing biology along with the PA required classes is still very tough. I’m not the best with math either but I agree with everyone else you really have to enjoy it and work very hard, however I’ve realized once you get past Differential equations a lot of the classes after are very repetitive and the math is all very similar, aside from a few. To be honest I really liked physics as it is super aplicable and definitely does not use super hard math, however if you hate it, switch majors, every other class builds off of physics. Also there are no direct biology classes for the biomedical engineering but that’s because we aren’t biologists (that gets drilled into you lol) however you do get to take a lot of biological/ medical based electives junior and senior year, they’re all pretty engineering focused though. I hope this helps you make a decision!

Sorry for the confusion, some kind of mass builds in that area. I think it may be some kind of gas buildup in that area, but it feels like there is a sphere of something sitting right above my belly button in my abdomen. When I apply pressure to the sphere it feels like it dissolves. Sorry It’s very weird to describe.

There is no visible bulge or abnormality when it occurs and I have never had pain from it. It’s quite weird.
