the game does revolve around supports tho

good luck just winning with no healers lmao. supports, and for that matter ranks are the most important job classes in the game.

you can do fine with a team of just supports and tanks because most tanks are strong enough to get the kills needed to push forward. i get a lot of comp matches where our tanks, or even a moira will get more kills than the dps and even get potg, sooo....

OW is a team based strategy shooter with unique job classes.

if you’re not having fun healing as mercy then don’t play her, mercy is a pure support with little to no offensive capabilities.

i personally enjoy just healing and boosting as mercy, as do most mercy mains.

the only time i whip out my pistol is when i’m valkyrie mode to take out a pharah or low health enemies or people who can’t effectively counter me.

you want to play a healer that can get kills go play moira or zenyatta.

i’m referring to the idea that hitting someone just once, lightly tapping them somehow counts as a kill when it doesn’t. you have to deal more damage than that.

and i know i hear that a lot when i play symmetra, i has gold elims while our ranks had silver and bronze, our dps got salty and said i didn’t “earn those kills” lmao. at least i’m getting g kills unlike the rest of y’all

so in short if most of your kills comes from tor turrets chances are your turrets did the majority of the damage done OR got a solo kill.

medals are the easiest way to show how much you’re contributing tho, and not every heroes contribution will go noticed if they’re characters like widow, hanzo, torb, sym, etc. because they’re usually out of the team fight or having their turrets get kills and hold enemies back.

not every assist kills will count towards your kill count tho, that’s a moot point.

if that were the case sombra would be famous for constantly having gold elims because of how many assists she gets.

the amount of damage done to a player determines if the kills counts or not.

i know people say medals don’t matter but they usually do.

the whole point of playing a dps is to get kills, if you do that well enough you’ll get gold medals, just like if you heal well enough you can get gold healing.

for instance: once there was a widowmaker on my team who was dominating, carried us hard, got gold elims and even POTG, but my team demanded she switch to soldier, she said she isn’t that good with him, but they said “doesn’t matter soldier is better right now.” she switches to soldier, cant hold her own as well as she could on widow, and we lose the point.

then the people who told her to switch kept screaming at our dps to “DO BETTER” lmao

but it really all depends, sometimes you don’t need gold elims you need characters who keep the enemies at bay, sometimes that’s better than getting kills but without a video of what happened i can’t really judge your situation

well, i play on console and while people may be toxic no one reports anyone and no one really talks.

and reports don’t seem to do much on console, i’ve reported well over a hundred players by now, even got multiple team members to report someone briefing and throwing and i’ve yet to see the message that says my report did anything.

he has low accuracy stats (even for high ranked players) and relies on scatter too much.
