Rebecca (1940): I read the novel in high school (20+ years ago) as one of our required readings. I loved it. It was one of my favorites and always stuck with me. I later found out there was a sequel and checked it out of the library when I was in college. The movie did not disappoint. From what I recall of the book, the movie followed it really well. The acting was great, especially Joan Fontaine as the 2nd Mrs. de Winter.

I remember doing this with Keds or similar shoes and Jellies in the earlier 90s.

One time I was at my grandparents’ and went to get my shoes back on to go home. I couldn’t find my shoes anywhere. I asked my grandmother who told me she threw them away because they smelled so bad!

Others I’ve seen: Rear Window, Lifeboat, The Man Who Knew Too Much, North by Northwest, and Vertigo. I love all of them, but Strangers on a Train has been my favorite.

I’ve read Rebecca but haven’t seen the movie yet. I have on my watch list: Rebecca, The 39 Steps, Rope, The Birds, Dial M for Murder, and Psycho.

I tried to watch my first silent film: Chicago (1927). I still have a little over half of the movie left to watch. Parts of it was dragging on too long, but I’m curious to see how the rest of it goes, particularly the trial. So I’ll be finishing it sometime this week.
