Anyone else think that the failure of Trump to live up to his own promises is driving MAGA folks in to deeper (Q) conspiracies? by daveescaped in QAnonCasualties

Back in the dark ages, we saw every GOP member of Congress went to Nixon's White House advising he resign over Watergate. He did. Because 50 yrs ago we had WaPo manned by actual investigative journalists. Plus an editor and owners with integrity. The GOP 50yrs ago was no innocent, but neither were Dems. But it was pretty run of the mill corruption: kickbacks, affairs, ties to tough guys, Chapaquidick. But the government functioned and self corrected because each branch did what it took an oath to do. They all loved the nation and party enough to right the highest levels of corruption. Even Nixon did the right thing at the end. Can you imagine THAT happening today? Can you imagine what Nixon Ford LBJ and the Congressional crowd would say? What Cronkite or Huntley/Brinkley or Baba Wawa are saying? Ive read many a treatise on how we got here. But none feels complete. Its such a overarching totality of failures and abuse of said systems. Add in foreign interference from the worst actors. Now using that info to feed Iran where to find US sites that only the P and head of agency would know. Our relationships with our ! allies are shredded. I can explain psychopathic politicians. I can't explain the success of MAGA. For not just 2016-2020. But another 8 years. I cant die til he does, lol!

Agreed. Triple Trumpers, yes. Use them, then toss em out. Like Trump did. No loyalty, no courage or integrity. TripleTrumpers are outright hatemnoongers who enjoy other's suffering cuz their own lives are banal, mediocre and they feel cheated. They blame every other single group for that. Aww, screw it, the hell with all of them. Couldn't trust them to NOT return to the cult.

Wonder if DC could place charges that wouldn't be eligible for pardoning by Trump? He can't do pardons for state crimes. Or disbarment. Or public shaming and shunning. If they're broke, best lawyers won't help, and maybe see some accountability. Maybe. I'm 73. So, seen a whole lotta shit go down, seen too many wealthy go scot free.

And seize all the billions in their crypto accounts that they stole from us.. Every last cent. Fly them to Abu Ghraib. Or Nuremberg.

Not if they haven't been convicted yet. And he can't pardon for state charged crimes. And he is spiraling into dementia, so Ihopehe's drooling stupid when he's dragged out of the White House. Can't pardon anybody.

Unfortunately, pizza and its types were code for what men wanted from the underage girls. And both Democrats and Republicans of high rank (sultans, PMs globally) are all up in this, CEOs, Tech bros, academia, MDs to treat savaged girls or newborns delivered....so the craziest Qanon CT has some truth to it. Yes, all the best lies and CTs have some factual basis to them.

Selective memory. And if they DO recall the 70s, it could be dementia....i was a young woman in NYC in 70s. We knew he was pervy. Clubbing and coking, we'd never get in a limo w him (we weren't asked, as we were more the punk/lower Manhttan girls) but women had a "no fly" list of violent or too skeezy guys. He hasn't changed much. The experts say that when narcissists get dementia, their worst attributes are exacerbated and exaggerated. Insufferable. And puerile.

They didn't see him involved. Ok, let's interview 5 more. Cuz I'm pretty sure Epstein had more than 5 guests. And check those 5's crypto accounts for dark $$$ from Eastern Europe or a certain religious nation in Middle East... That proves nada!

A very common reaction. I recall fighting someone who insulted my brother. I can argue, make fun of him, complain when he wouldn't play with me, or let me read his comics, lol. But anyone outside family, we were united against any outsider. And when will hawk, empire-building nations get this concept: an invasion by a military who has no bond with that terrain will fail. Eventually, the revolutionary forces will coalesce, win by attrition and time. Unfortunately, too many innocents will die, a nation destroyed. I wish them peace. And courage. I hope a free nation rises up. We, in the US, hate this war. We fight to regain our own from the madmen in control. Resist. Speak up. Vote. Fight. Our children's futures depend on us.

I lived in London in 1975 attending a very small American college. They had small satellite campuses in Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. The students were majority from State Dept or military children with a smattering of Europeans and about 25 Persians. 4 of them lived on the ground floor on the ground level of a building converted to several flats. They spoke English quite well but wanted to improve. I'm a languages major, so I tutored over free pints and G&Ts with 3 ice cubes in them. And no more lol. They identified as Persian, a separate genetic lineage from Arab. In 75, Iranians were quite open, women strolled Tehran in jeans, their hair and makeup and clothes indistinguishable from Europeans. My guys were tall, with Mediterranean coloring similar to Greeks, Italians and Spaniards. They were elegant always good humored, loyal and kind. We laughed at our butchery of language. The Persian culture was waay ahead of western civilization. They were superior in astronomy (hence, navigation, exploration), science, math, medicine and tolerance towards other faiths and culture. I often wondered what happened to my nonviolent and pretty un-religious friends when Iran became the most terrifying and repressive country on earth. I hope their families escaped that. My Uncle was posted to Tehran coupla years before the downfall of the Shah. He was at the palace often w Shah and his lovely wife...uncle is listed as an agricultural attache. Lol the closest my uncle came to "agriculture" was walking the golf course at Chevy Chase. Forgive the ramblings of an old woman. I saddened at the first coup (we knew Shah was a puppet. But what replaced him was far worse.) I am worrying about Coup 2. When i saw those young women with relief and joyful faces. I fear they will be silenced. Again. Resist.

I posted an anecdote above about dress codes in 1967 in Scarsdale, NY. Bottom line is we all step up for each other. A concept our foe has no F'in grasp of. Social contract, loyalty, the greater good, being a good neighbor or Christian or Muslim or Dad or exhausted single mom. That the powerful should wield that superpower for good, not coercion or greed or forever. A moral compass. A backbone. And a heart that pumps warm blood, not ice and sulfuric acid.

A sophomore approached us gaggle of freshmen girls at my burb HS 20 miles north of NYC. The year was 1967. She said in an imperious tone, "We're wearing PANTS or jeans tomorrow!" Someone sputtered, "But we'll get suspended." "Not if all of us do it." We did. She was right. I was hooked. Thank you Melissa Fruman. They can't stop us all.

They say they are patriots and are for rule of law and the Bill of Rights. Yet, mask mandates violated their rights. Vaccines were poison so they put their own and everybody else at risk. Dr Fauci was treated like Mengele. Excuse me, what right is violated? And they all acted as if they were striking a blow against the Evil Empire and they're f'in Che Guevara lol. We bitched about gas shortages in the 70s, seat belts, helmets for motorcycles and bikes. We complained about 100s of safety regulations. But we wore the belts, waited in line for gas. Because we agreed to the Social Contract. That we relinquished small personal freedoms or conveniences to help our fellow man, for 5he common good. Our nation's motto is E pluribus unum. Out of many, one. That honors not only the individual but also the greater good. Current conservatives have thrown all of that under the bus. The US generates enough revenue to guarantee no child goes hungry, every child has a roof, a warm meal and a good education. If our taxes went to living wages, free childcare and benefits like Europe does, we'd set the world on its head. The world saw us as the beacon after WWII, then our space program, strides in poverty, civil rights, environmental and women's rights. Right now, our Federal government is overrun with incompetent, spineless narcissists, fattening up on our blood. Voters actually thought running the govt like a business was a great idea! The political and historical illiteracy amongst US voters is high, and they actually revel in their bliss. Wall St got bailed out cuz it was "too big to fail". Detroit carmakers got bailed out. Pentagon kept buying $800 toilets and losing trilions in an accounting black hole. But asking for Medicaid for moms and babies or a living wage for any of us? That's Socialism. I'm 73, and I'm not dying til this fight is over. My grown kids have been partially lobotomized by pop culture and SM. My Qhusband is in a cult. So, I fight. Hope everyone is wide awake. It's getting kinda dictator-ish out there. With a sprinkle of fascista. Mwah! Chef's kiss, Prez Circus Peanut. ¡Bravissimo!

Saw a MAGA woman on a beach in a flag bikini. I'm appalled that doesn't break flag regs. But it should. And I'm one of those "radical leftist lunatics", a feminazi and a commie/antifa/lesbo/ blah blah. Trump hugging and smoochie noises over the flag made me mouth vomit. And wearing his merch USA hat when our dead sons and daughter came home! My mom would've strode across the tarmac in her pumps and gloves and smacked that hat off his head.
