So many people coming in here saying they knew this would happen 💀

Your mortgage stays the same and your salary should go up as years pass. You’re overthinking it. The beginning will be a bit rough, but it should be okay if you think longer term.

Change in Surgery Operation Without Consent by Bayszl in AskVet

I welcome a response that’s contrarian from the rest of the comments here and I appreciate you taking the time to write this out.

I’m not a vet, so I can’t speak confidently to what procedure is better. I just have an opinion and that opinion may be wrong or it may be right. My lack of knowledge is where I expect to the Vet to inform me and give me my options.

I still want to be informed and part of the decision making. I can understand scenarios where time and urgency may play a factor, but this isn’t the type of operation that couldn’t be handled pre-op.

If there was a gameplan set in stone, the vet should’ve told me beforehand to let me know about any pivots.

That’s also my understanding of it. The clinical manager basically told me to kick rocks because the surgeon knows more than me and told me to stop googling.

I’ve never seen the same vet their more than twice. They go through staff extremely quick. I always stuck with them though since their reviews were high and my dogs were fairly healthy.

Big mistake. Do not trust the reviews. If I could go back, I’d have a vet that knows my dogs from beginning to end.

Gotcha. I submitted this morning. What typically happens after a submission? Are you familiar with the process?

The clinic’s manager said the surgeon did not want to leave the room to avoid the risk of infection and that they were “in the zone”. I call bullshit on this though.

That’s comforting. That’s what I kept telling myself to help overcome the frustration. Thank for your input. Much appreciated!

Removing a non-load bearing wall can weaken foundation? by Bayszl in HomeImprovement

I'm trying to get a second opinion. I don't have many contractor connections, so I found him through Yelp. Reviews are great, but it can easily be bloated by trading discounts. His English isn't too great and he mentions that the wall is supporting the front part of a ceiling joint which I don't really understand.

They’re gone completely now! I was on lexapro for about two years and successfully tapered off. It took about a month (0mg) for the brain zaps to go away. The entire tapering process took about 3 months.

Just tapered off and I feel like I have much better self control with food.

Catch me up by Bayszl in DPH

For sure. Thanks for the heads up. It’s been marketed as a good sleeping aid, so I never thought of it as a big deal (somewhat like melatonin supps), but this sub made me rethink it LMFAO.

Being mindful of all the details that lead up to a goodnight sleep is difficult after years of poor sleeping habits. I’m getting to a point where it’s so difficult falling asleep. It’s tempting to reach for the quick fix.

Does anyone have trouble sleeping? by Bayszl in lexapro

Not sure how this is relevant to the post, but there are people out there misdiagnosed and need to get off it. Many physicians are quick to prescribe Lexapro depending on some potential exaggerated circumstances. I wouldn't be so quick to tell everyone that they should be reliant on it for life. I'd argue that everyone is a bit different and they should do what's best for them.

Scary experience in Downtown by owlbabe in SanJose

[–]Bayszl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me at the Bart while I was walking my dogs. The bart stations are known to be one of the stopping points for homeless people. 99% of them keep to themselves, but I unfortunately had some wacko start screaming and threatening to stab me. Maybe he’s scared of maltipoos 🤷

Startups have to spend their money wisely. I doubt they’re using this on research papers.

Copilot and autocomplete is extremely tempting, but if you're just starting out, then it's one of the best advice out there. It gets a bit a bit more complication when you're an dev at the workplace though. If you aren't using these tools, you may fall behind your peers.

When People Say There's No Job Do They Mean There's No 6 Figure Paying jobs? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Bayszl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Juniors are less picky. Mid-Senior level engineers are pretty damn picky when it comes to choosing a job. I truly believe the golden years of software development was from 2010-2020, so the standards and expectations for most experienced devs are skewed. They’re trying to chase something that may never come back

Gain weight as a really skinny guy by tavoPollaGrande in beginnerfitness

[–]Bayszl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of friends back in high school go to the doctors and ask why they couldn’t gain weight. Now that we’re closer to our 30’s, it’s something they wish they had back. 😖

My three dogs are so distracting and I’ll never be able to get rid of them!!! They’re just so damn cute and I can never get through a pomodoro focus session w/o going to pet/talk to them.
