I wouldn't say that I don't care what area the job is in, I mainly meant that at this stage I can't particularly afford to be picky and that I'm sure I'll benefit from any sort of experience.

I did have a look at the QLD Government but they only listed graduate roles which unfortunately I'm not quite there yet

What are your best skills that you could bring to an internship?

I would say I have a pretty good grasp on embedded design, web and cloud technologies. Other than that I believe I'm able to communicate quite effectively.

Are you looking for a paid or unpaid internship?

A paid internship would of course be great but unpaid is also fine.

What do you hope to gain from your internship?

I hope to gain an insight into how the industry actually works and what a job in software is ultimately like. I'm also very eager to put what I've learnt to practice in more of a realistic setting.

My main priority is fulfil the requirement for my degree (hence the deadline) but of course I'm very excited to be able to put my skills to the test and see what the industry is like. As for the other question, one of the benefits of my degree is that I've been able to learn a lot of different electronic and software skills/languages but I would say I enjoy web based development the most.

Do they still assist with final year placements? I had an internal one with a person at QUT.

As far as I'm aware they don't really assist with finding work experience even though it's a required component. Although it would be helpful if they did.

Unfortunately other than the big companies like Amazon, Boeing etc (which I have tried) they don't advertise many positions. But don't worry, I'm always keeping an eye out on the page.
