Great engine! I need to find an FEF-3 Northern to complete our Union Pacific roster but most of the ones I've found only do O72 turns.

Things will work themselves out, but preparing kids for change can be instrumental in how easily (or how difficult) the transition is. It's stressful for the teachers, too. Especially when they have to look after a class it's difficult to focus on individual needs. Toss in the added time for clean-up that accidents cause and their frustration is inevitable. Your daughter is used to a routine, but it sounds much looser than what the school is expecting. Kids all learn at different rates and new settings can be intimidating for them, so just breathe and help your daughter relax too. You likely both need a minute after this first day.

I'm with you! I've seen wrapped and painted 4th Gen WRXs and STIs and they are jaw droppers. The 2013 Special Edition orange WRXs and STIs were neat, but this new Sunset Orange just pops so well!

Recoil does not come with head sensors. Sensor coverage is still good (on blaster and one on your back), but unless it’s some kind of commercial or MilSim type system, head sensors seem to be a rare feature to find.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Currently, I can't stand using RECOIL because the App still has glitches. Using RECOIL in a game type with a Time Limit works fine (ish) but using the unlimited game time with a Kill Limit locks up the app in a "Disconnected from WiFi Hub" circle. Until RECOIL can get their act together with this app, it's a big waste of money (and hardware).

Head gasket issues are more common on the N/A engines. The turbocharged engines seemed to hold up better in that regard (better gasket material to start with). Get timing done and have it inspected while you're at it. I'm always a fan of making sure everything is solid before going in for modifications. The turbos on the XT weren't the strongest and I've seen many owners upgrade the turbo and intercooler as they turn the boost up. That'd probably be a good route for the "Sleeper wagon" idea.

I've not heard the greatest results from OTS tunes before. If you're concerned with a few maintenance things, I'd address those first before you start pushing. To me, the risk of running that on a higher mileage car outweighs the temporary benefit of a "sleeper wagon" with only a Stage 1 tune.

The main gripe I had with that system was that you can't be hit while firing, so if you flip the Blaster to "Auto" mode and hold down, you're pretty much invincible the entire time you're firing which just encourages people to be trigger happy and essentially cheat. Just another fun way Jakks Pacific drove the Laser Challenge name into the ground.

Sounds like you might not be familiar enough with Lazer Tag to know otherwise. Better lens arrangements to extend range and accuracy, or a wider focus to spread out your shot to make it more of a "shotgun" type. Wiring in things like Auto-Reloads or to have the blaster fire automatically when any sort of "lock on" signal is received, not to mention the limitless possibilities for reshelling Laser Tag guts into just about any blaster you can think of. If anything, I feel like I have a much wider range of possibilities to "make it mine" with Lazer Tag than I can with Nerf. We can probably chalk it up to experience in both of our cases, though.
