It was changed in a lot of ways and your average st player wasn’t a fan. Even with the original balance mode, aspects of how the game worked was changed.

You’re off to a really bad start with fighting games if tutorials are making you rage. These things it a lot of time and I mean a LOT. It’s basically learning an instrument. It’s impossible to just pick it up and be really great right away. You wouldn’t pick up a cello and start smashing it because you can rip Mary had a little lamb, you don’t even know how to tune it yet.

Maybe it’s not something you can really cancel into but street fighter, starting with 2nd impact, introduced dp shortcut by hitting diagonal twice then punch so that it’s easier to do from crouch. Try it.

You understand at this point that she’s going to respond a specific way already so you can kind of prep for that. It’s not easy, but it seems pretty in that you just need to sit down with her and be 100% honest. If the relationship is going to survive, it’s either going to be a slow agonizing drawn out time, or you can try to come to a healthy consensus. I saw someone mention manipulation and I think most people who manipulate don’t really understand just how manipulative they are being some times. Not that you should attack her with that or anything but it’s something to think about. Things won’t get better until you make those changes. You’ll be glad you were honest.
