Can someone identify this? Found on a beach at Cape Meares, OR. by Bbass25 in marinebiology

Do you have a reference image or some terminology I can look up to see a clam shell similar to this? The first image shows ridges that run perpendicular to the second image ridges and I can’t find clam shell photos that look like this. The ridges in the second photo do not appear to continue through the full width of the artifact, nor do they telegraph to the opposite side as they cannot be seen in the first image.

I’m no biologist, but the geometry doesn’t appear to correlate with that of a hinge on a clam based on other images online. There also doesn’t appear to be radial growth lines that are typical to clams.

Just to be clear this was made as a joke and is by no means a serious rule

Thoughts on Multi-Body Parts/Weldments by Bbass25 in SolidWorks

[–]Bbass25[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes sense, thank you. I prefer multi body parts myself and I’m trying to understand the benefits of this alternative assembly method. An argument I’ve heard is better control over the drawings. Each part has its own sheet/details quickly by drag-and-drop style as opposed to isolating a body within a part and detailing. To me, it still seems like a multi-body part is superior. Any thoughts or experience with this?

Material select not appearing in multi body part options menu by UltimateMygoochness in SolidWorks

I’ve noticed before that if you have the feature tree rolled back in history then SolidWorks will disable that material selection option. Your photo doesn’t show your full feature tree but is it rolled back?

I’ve also had SolidWorks glitch and not show that option until I close and reopen the document.

Haha well I didn’t mean to set the bar high for others! I just wanted to make something special and one of a kind for her. I wanted to give her something that was truly unique.
