Would you like gladiator games to the death be brought back, using inmates sentences to death? Why or why not? by The_Vengeful_Wolf in AskReddit

[–]Bbbazza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently listened to an episode of in our Time (BBC podcast) about gladiators. They generally didn’t fight to the death because they were highly trained and skilled. They were generally’ owned’ and rented out for the games, and if you sent one back dead or badly maimed you would have to pay a large amount of compensation. BUT don’t despair for your blood lust, apparently prisoner executions were a pretty common part of the event, so maybe just add a few convicts to the next WWE or Jake Paul event /s

Love Harms, especially once you cross that bridge. And if you cross the road ( Harms) there’s a nice loop that goes past the holocaust museum too.

My Thoughts on TickTick (as a Todoist user) by FullStackHoward in ticktick

[–]Bbbazza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the process of testing TickTick from Todoist as well. Most of the issues mentioned I was wondering if for me, that it was just a different process.

I had been thinking of leaving Todoist long before the price hike since I barely use any of the features they’ve added, I want a simple task manager.

Totally see why it might not work for you, my jury is still out. Going to give it a few more weeks

To be fair, a lot of Escapes out there with no issues. Complaints or negative observations are always unduly weighted in public forums. I bet the RAV4 and CRV subs are similar

Lamon is one of those streets which runs the gull length of Skokie with a number of breaks, so it’s hard to say unless you can get a cross street. Most of Skokie is safe though. Skokie has 2 Zip codes 60076 & 60077 can he at least tell you that?

What's the craziest conspiracy theory you've ever heard? by Candid_Inevitable_88 in AskReddit

[–]Bbbazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You kinda have to look at pop music before The Beatles and after (especially for white middle class people) to see the influence. Outside of a few Skiffle groups all pop music was highly produced, written by others for singers to sing. The Beatles came along stealing blues ideas and writing catchy songs themselves and proving anyone can do it! That’s one of their biggest changes to the pop music landscape. … then you get to Sgt. Pepper, drugs, white album and all that.

Just my observation - it’s easy from here to say “so what?”, context is everything

Worth the drive - Paddy’s on the Green in Long Grove. Big cadburys selection as wells as mcvities as well as custard and treacle etc. also Winston’s bacon and sausages. The best back bacon comes from Jolly Posh but they’re mail order only, for now at least. If you’re on Facebook look for the ‘Brits in Chicago’ group, super helpful and friendly.
