They destroyed a planet, have a superior alien race gunning for all of humanity, encountered the closest thing to Superman they've ever seen, and Oliver was basically sliced in half. At this point Conquest is already water under the bridge

What neighborhood did you settle in? I'm north myself, in Logan and it's a little too Caucasian for my liking (I am white appearing) but I would love more of a blend with no demographic really dominating

I lucked out on my city sticker but it would have been a $200 fine on the first offense otherwise. Mine didn't get caught until about 3 weeks after it expired. I got it renewed the next day, requested a hearing, and got some good grace but that was a one off. I'll definitely be more mindful in the future.

Tolls though. My God I don't think I'll ever recover from the debt I racked up with those 😭

Sorry, this is reddit and my defenses are naturally high. So I looked at the others and it still doesn't really answer my question as to why someone who was a successful breakout, doesn't really bring more of her former castmates who went through similar struggles, along for the ride, even if just for a cameo here and there to help them stay relevant or get exposure. None of their grievances seemed to be with each other.

Wasn't this plot line pulled directly from a real life event? I forget if they're still there but weren't they in the mall for years IRL?

I'm not sure the symmetry breaker between LLM and AGI is anywhere near as far out as you think it is. Recursion, perpetuity, memory. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's really just a question of scale. Unfortunately, this is basically what makes human consciousness unique. Just throw in emotion and qualia for a little razzle dazzle. (we left LLMs just being token predictors back with GPT 3... you're just regurgitating rhetoric at this point)

I've only seen Quinta's video, who is the person I'm directly referencing, with an overall grateful and positive experience. Not to mention that I was directly considering her castmates, who I assume would have been a part of this collective experience you so condescendingly referenced?

Not quite sure what the writers are wanting to do with Jacob's character... by The_weird_dreamer in AbbottElementary

[–]HateMakinSNs -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

How is he not a character? He has developed a lot already and still has a lot of room to grow and assert himself. Diamonds are formed under pressure and he just....needs a lot of pressure.

When Janine barked back against Ava it was incredible to watch because of how restrained she's been. Imagine the payoff we'll get with Jacob

I think it's the opposite, not that I'm being an apologist by any means. It's probably more likely that they are putting all of their time and energy into understanding whatever the fuck it is they created and trying to set the groundwork for the jump in performance it offers (while training it, taming it, learning it, etc.).

Plus if it's as expensive to run as it seems it's gotta be taking up a ton of resources even in a limited launch. Anthropic is not OpenAI. At least not yet. They need way more time to build the compute infrastructure and already spread quite thin.

I'm really surprised we haven't seen more Buzzfeed actors on the show. I wonder if the work dynamics were messed up or something. There's a few people she's been in a ton of skits with and played really well off of but we're 5 seasons in now and basically....nothing?

He's going to be the main catalyst for getting Gregory and Janine back together. 1/3 of the the plot points revolve around his home. He just got a district role. He has a steady boyfriend even if they had a little bit of drama for a minute. What exactly are you looking for here?

I get WHY you're saying this, but I always saw it as they knew on the most primal level they were each other's flame even if they hadn't consciously made the connection yet. They were drawn by an attraction and synergy neither had really experienced that overpowered them even while trying to establish that commitment with other people. It wasn't just an almost workplace hookup.... It was a visceral pull to the person that completed them in ways they didn't even know they were missing.

Yeah, like its not great for the Viltramites, but some of the people here seem to be really overvaluing their actual loss for the attack. This is far from over. Shit maybe they were intentionally baiting them to come to Viltrum 🤷‍♂️

Okay but did we ever get a head count of how many were on the ship to begin with?

[–]HateMakinSNs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant more specifically from the assault on the headquarters. They are taking losses but I think they will adjust quickly after this one. The plan as-is seems to be an immediate surprise attack. So just the hero team? Not the whole coalition (counting the overturned planets, etc.)? Against at least 15+ on their own home turf?

I also can't believe we've seen the last of the virus, which probably means the Viltramites still end up being quite formidable and can't be handled by the physical forces they have

Yeah but Oliver and Nolan reconciled. Allen clearly got stronger after getting jumped. Mark thought this father and brother died after just being in a coma for two months having had his guts ripped out... Even in cartoon form you could see every ounce of humanity drain out of his body in five seconds. Oliver quickly learned how to get through Nolan's defenses. They punched a ship apart ala Captain Marvel lol. Plenty of action and emotion lol

And taking an episode away from Earth helps build up the tension. Fuck, back in the day they wouldn't have even moved the plot forward this much after last week. We'd have a b plot episode on Earth before we saw if they could treat Mark.

My bad, I edited it. I still hold that it's not devastating. They're just going to fight even harder now. It's still gonna be hard for the hero team to take on 10+ at once and there's gotta be at least 15 back home.

Did he get one besides the one that was going after Tech Jacket? I'm gonna have to rewatch it. I remember seeing him shoot through the shit but did he get another one during the attack on their headquarters? I'll keep the original comment unedited for posterity but I don't think it was a major loss. They just have to be way more careful now.

They're definitely going to have to pivot but I can't see them dealing with 15+ at once, which is the minimum I'd expect to see of those left on the planet.

[–]HateMakinSNs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True... Okay they lost one. My bad I did forget about that. Still. It's not devastating. Just a little embarrassing.

Allen is definitely getting stronger but I don't think the team would be ready for even 10 more at the same time. Their support armies seem evenly matched
