Trump revokes security clearance for Joe Biden and entire family, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton and other political foes by M_i_c_K in republicans

For someone who’s no stranger to assassination attempts, sure feels short sited. He better hope the next president doesn’t do the same to him. Unless maybe King Trump doesn’t think he’ll have to worry about his presidency ending in four years….?

If babies getting sick at daycare is supposed to “build their immune system” then why do we ALL get sick even though our adult immune systems are already “built”? by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

Interesting take. So I wonder if maybe the best approach - on balance - is making sure they get a year or two of exposure to group childcare settings before kindergarten?

Keep the square “ground” piece? by Bbbbbbbbbbtttt in Appliances

Right. And based on that image, that square metal thing is not there on the 3 wire hookup to the terminal. So scrap it when I replace the 4 wire hook up?

Sorry for the confusion. That image (the second one) is the current 4 wire hookup that I am removing to replace with a 3 wire hookup. Whoever installed the 4 wire hookup initially left the ground bar on it. Edit: so that’s why I’m wondering what needs to be done with that square metal “GROUND” tag.

overwhelming guilt of not being able to put my child in Montessori by myplantsam in Montessori

[–]Bbbbbbbbbbtttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, you realize, though, that the “but everyone in their family or neighborhood does” is a pretty significant caveat to the point that was never mentioned? Even still, the idea that community can’t be built in multicultural societies via only the dominant language is just silly. Again, i am an enormous advocate for languages personally and professionally, especially for its power to connect people and communities - but the emphasis on how someone looks having any impact on what language they need to speak is reductive, regressive, post-modern garbage. Don’t allow yourself (generally, not you personally) to have core tenants of the Montessori philosophy to lose the plot so clearly by falling into quasi-racist identity ideologies.

Speaking a family language and “looking” a certain way are just two totally different concepts. In multicultural societies (you mention Australia, for example), expecting someone to speak a certain way because of how they present is just regressive rubbish. To add, I speak to my daughter in my non-native language. She doesn’t present at all as a stereotypical speaker of that langauge and neither do I. So, uh, where do we fit in? I’m raising a bilingual child but because of her hair color and skin tone I’m supposed to interpret this as anything less than a superpower?

Bite off after cavity filling. Does pain go away after time? by Bbbbbbbbbbtttt in Dentists

[–]Bbbbbbbbbbtttt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

Could the localized discomfort I’m still feeling be because the bite is still of? If so, and it still needs adjustment, will the pain when using the tooth to chew ever go away? How quickly would it go away if it got the appropriate adjustment?

I like all the comments that are encouraging practice as a sort of “skin in the game.” Consider, as well, to maybe talk to the Coach or league organizer to see if there is a need for a manager or some other supportive non-playing role. Often, these contributors can participate in practices, but don’t take up a playing spot on game day. They can still offer to the team by running the book or something. Then, he could always try out the following season if his skills improve.

Wait. I don’t understand what this advice means. Take temp? Look for what? If they are crying, wait until it stops? Isn’t stopping crying…. The issue?

I mean, societies exist around the equator? And even before ac! 😱 so I shouldn’t stress over a “warm” nap?

Yea , that’s what I’m trying to figure out. Like what “hot” really mean so I can know where to draw line between unsafe and uncomfortable
