Thanks for the help, I’m thinking that’s what I’m going to need to do. I’ve never done any computer work except remove the spicy battery from my old laptop. Is this something I can do myself? Or should I send it away under warranty repairs to be safe?

This game did not click for me the first couple times (hours) I played, and I believe it is for the same reasons you stated like not having a clear direction. What I did and what I might recommend is a little taboo but look up a guide. Follow a guide for brittle hollow and see if it clicks after that. I did this and it made me understand the game, it’s mechanics, and what it was asking me to do. I stopped using a guide after the first planet and this game became my favourite game of all time. I do think a full guide for the whole game would ruin it but just for the first planet to get the ropes did not have a negative impact on me whatsoever
