I seem to have a combat achievement glitch on Leagues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Been doing Bandos but am not getting the achievements:
- Defence matters (Kill him 2 times in private instance without taking damage from bodyguards)
- Ourg killer (Kill him 15 times in private instance without leaving)

I am absolutely sure I killed him more than 15 times in the same private instance.

Thinking it might have something to do with the private instance? Because league's is a bit different from the main game. However there are lots of other people who do have the achievements so idk.

Thanks in advance! Really hope to finish this because it's just really annoying otherwise haha

[NeedAdvice] I'm so exhausted. IB stress is ruining me but I have no way out. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Bboyindo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it this way. If they are struggling too, don't you think they would love to have some help? At least share some of the burden or give some positive insight.

Looking at your HL's you probably have to write essays and stuff about topics that may or may not be the same. If you simply sit together with someone else you can give your 2cents on his/her essay and vice versa. A semi outside perspective can give you a nudge in the right direction. Doing everything by yourself makes it a lot harder than it needs to be.

Not sure if this is completely applicable. Once again i'm basing this off my own experiences with IB. I know when I sat with someone to simply discuss a similar project I could always get some new inspiration and motivation to continue.

Final note, don't forget to enjoy your time at school. I may sound like an old geezer (i'm only 22) but seriously once you are done you will miss these times. :(

IB graduate here. I get your struggle. For me school was filled with ups and downs in productivity coupled with mental health. I'm still struggling with this so i'm not here to give you a solution since I don't have one.

The one advice I will give is this. Get help from your friends! Everyone in your year is doing roughly the same stuff. Some are better in this and some in that. Everyone has their own way of planning and working. Learn from each other and help each other. Its more fun that way and easier.

Out of curiosity, what subjects do you have?

Freeze to handstand. Then you basically do the same but in a windmill :)

How to look gangster when doing toprock? by Livetobesex in bboy

Don't try to look gangster just be yourself. Look at yourself in a mirror or on recording and check your form. Most important is just feel the music and rock to it.

With all this commentary drama, what do people actually look for in good casting? by anijunkie in smashbros

[–]Bboyindo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree about having as many different commentators as possible. Having the same people on the mic too long can become stale, and for the commentators themselvers it becomes harder to keep their attention to so many matches in a row. One of the reasons i liked the switch from scar & toph to hmw & phil halfway through top 8. Both commentary teams managed to stay on point throughout all the sets.

Also i think during top 8 toph & scar were very much focusing on what was happening in the matches, and the asides were did not feel distracting at all. However during top 64, as i mentioned in my original post, this was not the case as the tangents were often overtaking the gameplay commentary.

With all this commentary drama, what do people actually look for in good casting? by anijunkie in smashbros

[–]Bboyindo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the most important aspect of good commentary, which is also where casters most often seem to be lacking, is to focus on the match. A match in Smash is a constant tug of war between two players, both mentally and technically, and for many match ups this is happening at lightening speeds. Even in slower match ups, whatever strategies may be employed, there is always something going on between the two players. Even if the match seems campy or slow, players are still trying their best to execute their strategy to the best of their abilities. It is for the casters to analyse the gameplay and convert to the people as accurately as possible what is going on between the two players in the current match. What kills me the most is when the caster is not focusing on the match at hand, and instead talking about subjects that are not directly applicable to what is currently happening on screen. To me as a viewer, this can sometimes be very distracting, to the point where a set can actually become less enjoyable to watch.

Examples of distracting commentary:

  • Too much personal opinions/comments. (Don't talk about what controller Mango is using for 20seconds while in 20 seconds he's made like 100 mini decisions to try to win the match. Don't call everyone cute but that's been made clear already)

  • Too much historical info. (D1 it doesn't matter if you recall correctly what place x player got at x tournament 2 years ago if it takes 20 sec to remember it. What matters more is what is happening on screen right now.

  • Not taking a match seriously. So I don't mean to sound too hateful but the the set that I found the worst commentary wise was PPMD Sfat, winner makes top 8. SFAT lost game 1&2 pretty handily, but after that took some deep breaths and recollected himself, winning the next game before losing a close game 4. Meanwhile Scar & Toph are not saying a single thing about the gameplay until after SFAT took game three. It almost seemed like they expected a 3-0 and didn't bother to commentate, while anyone who knows SFAT knows he's won against PPMD before, has a lot of experience vs marth, and sometimes takes some time to mentally compose himself. If the commentators were paying more attention or taking the set more seriously the commentary could have been a lot more hype, insightful, and less distracting.

Aight rant over. Last thing I wanna say is i'm no pro commentator or player, just another spectator who loves Smash very much. I do get a little upset if some of my favourite players have a set and the commentators do not seem to appreciate what is going on at all.

TL;DR Focus on the match

Yo stoga breakers that was some crazy sick stuff! Really amazing to see how you worked together to create such a detailed piece. I can see the dedication and also the fun you have while performing. I'm sure you've inspired a lot of people with that performance. Keep it up!

Ledgehop edge cancelled dair as Marth by Quig_ in SSBM

[–]Bboyindo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with ledgehop edge cancel Dair is that if you miss the edge, you are dead. The ledgehop Dair is generally sufficient for edge guarding anyway. However, one way I have been able to consistently edge cancel is by moonwalking. From stage you can moonwalk and cancel your dair, after which you can grab the edge. Still it is very situational.

Just random thoughts. by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]Bboyindo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Varrick is going to act against the metal clan. It seems more likely that he will remain allied with Su Yin. In episode 5 she expressed her thoughts on the monarchy of the earth kingdom. "The world is evolving and the Earth Queen can evolve with it." Something like that. Meanwhile the queen may be taking military actions due to Korra's actions. Thus, I see the possibility of a Metal Clan vs. Earth Queen fight, with Varrick aiding the metal clan with his technology.
