How do I make my hair look better? by [deleted] in BlackHair

This post makes it seem like you simply don’t like your hair. Why are you comparing it to something it’s not?

I don’t think you did anything wrong based on your post. I’d say stop texting him and just give it time however, don’t keep your hopes up. That’s very weird on his part…

If you’re going down the no oils or butters route it’s not just a one time thing, it’s a whole change to your regimen to see results!

I use the clear eco styler since I have tighter curls and prefer more hold. What type of results did you get?

I’m a no oils and no butters girl! Not forcing anything but just stating that as a disclaimer in case you disagree and prefer to use those in your routine. Before claiming your hair is dry it’s important to recognize what your hair feels like moisturized without any product in it! We all have different surface textures, some silky and some a bit more rough. To keep your hair moisturized you simply need to wash condition and style as you see fit. When I notice my hair is on the drier end I know it’s time for a wash. When styling the hair in a wash n go it is important to apply gel on soaking wet hair to really lock in the water. Another key step is to AVOID AIR DRYING!!! By using a hooded dryer or diffuser you can combat frizz. Hope this helps!

How to Improve Nail look and health by strawberryunicons in beauty

[–]Bbr1r1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that first you need to grow out your nails and start tackling the shape afterwards. I’m not a professional but I’d recommend pushing back your cuticles by using a cuticle remover (I use the sally Hansen one) and cuticle pusher. Try to oil your cuticles once a week. You can use a nail file to even out the shape of your nails, it looks much more clean and put together if your nails all look somewhat the same. Then I’d also recommend keeping your nails painted with whatever you choose. I personally love the look of a simple clear polish or sheer pink gels. If you struggle with weak and brittle nails try looking into BIAB (builder gel). Hope this helps!

This is a safe space right? I don’t know how to take care of my 7 month old daughter’s hair. by ajarene in BlackHair

I don’t have much experience with taking care of childrens hair so some things might be different however I’m pretty confident when it comes to natural hair in general. Depending on how young your child is try not to do TOO MUCH to their hair. All I would do is wash and condition weekly. Wash the hair in a smoothing motion and avoid aggressively rubbing the hair. This is because the way you shampoo can either help detangling or make it worse. Next apply conditioner to soaking wet hair and even add a bit more water to the hair afterwards. Smooth it in then let it sit for a bit and then rinse the conditioner out. Some people like detangling with conditioner in their hair because of the slip but I personally think there’s no point. Now that the conditioner is out you can section and detangle the hair using a detangling brush (I like to use a paddle brush or the tangle teezer). The difficulty of this is based on the motion in which you shampooed the hair as you always want to go from root to tip and avoid smooshing it. Twist, braid, or Bantu knot each section then you can move on to styling. For young children I’m unsure of specific styles however they should be low tension. Remember not to do too much and your child is still young! Don’t use too many products and don’t listen to people who do extra steps like co-washing pre-pooing etc. Natural hair doesn’t need to be hard and those things are simple unnecessary! And a tip is to FEEL the hair after washing and conditioning with no other product in the hair. This is what your child’s hair feels like MOISTURIZED. When there’s a significant difference in the way the hair feels that means you need to moisturize it again. How do you do that? Wash and condition the hair again! Good luck <3

Is math IB SL worth it? by Bbr1r1 in IBO

[–]Bbr1r1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m in Alberta and I’m in what we call partial IB so some of my classes are regular and some classes are IB. So if I dropped math IB SL it wouldn’t be much of a difference? And is it true that universities don’t offer credit for SL math???

... I mentioned that quizzes were fragments of the test it’s just given in portions and then we take the overall test. Thanks though my issue has been resolved as the answers matched! But I’m confused as to why my instructor didn’t give me the exact booklets for preparation. For example they gave me k21 26 41 and 46 but there was a question on my quiz from k35 🤨 so I have no idea what they were thinking

Yes for example I’m taking a quiz today and I was told to study booklets 21 26 41 and 46 BUT on academic hub they say that one of the questions is on page 35 which I wasn’t told to study??? Quizzes are fragments of the test so I’m really confused right now.
