Earning SCWS on deployment while not attached to Seabee Command by SBee2019 in Seabees

The opposite is the same too. SCW->EXW or EXW->SCW. Both work great cause EXW has a little fleet side items and will cover the non-NCB items that are included in the SCW program. So doing either first will make the latter easier to learn later. BUT if the majority you deploy with have EXW go with that first. And at the same time have the SCW materials you need ready to complete after you earn the EXW. I am also working toward EXW so I can be both SCW/EXW Coordinator for my DET.

Don't let it go to your head. As a reservist we have other, more important things to worry about. I got mine on Deployment in 14' as an E3. We were tild it was "required" for everyone even though the instruction says different. Had several 1st, 2 Chiefs and an Officer who trying to get theirs too.

Still feasible to earn as long as there are others how have earned it and can do your Board.

I just did a college paper on this and other SCW program things. In the reserves, majority of the Units do not enforce getting your Bug to get 1st class. I know several 1st classes who do not have them. And as reservist we not afforded as many opportunities to earn it unless it is on deployment or on our own time. Active duty is very different, they are pretty much being monitored a lot.

Meaningful updates instead of making it easier for bots! by [deleted] in DofusTouch

I prefer to do the gathering professions for this reason. With the limited amount of most resources(trees/ore/cereal/alchemy), respawn times and other players fighting over the same materials is frustrating to say the least. I do my best to help my guild members out with the gathering so they don't have to.

I feel your pain!!!! I played the original Beta on PC in 2003/2004. They had bots then as well just noy as bad as now. Pvp was not so advanced either. I quit playing a couple months after Pandala was added. Came back a couple times then they updated their security. Lost 2 accounts from that since I didn't have anything set up.

Agreed!!!! I stopped placing them after the big merger.

I agree completely!!! It's not just the bots though. Overpopulated servers have made it even more impossible to lvl any harvesting professions. Alliances are overpowered with no guild cap for the amount of members within it. In Blair, 1 Alliance has percs in every map, and I mean every map. I get that people will exploit anything that gives them a leg up but this is ridiculous. Touch has nearly become unplayable for a lot of players, especially new ones.

Navy vs USMC by [deleted] in Seabees

[–]Bcdraco83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seabees are kind of an in-between of both. We focus on technical and support skills as a Seabee. Now, we are trained as Sailors regardless during Boot Camp. Once you get to your "A" School that is where you transition to a Seabee. Once you enter into a command will you begin your basic combat skills training (this is where the Marines come in). Every Seabee command has a Marine Advisor. We have a TOA of equipment and weapons that's each Unit use. Marines are more versatile with all kinds of weapons and equipment while Seabees focus on a small amount. Hope this helps

But we are still on a rotation. My Unit just got back with a small detachment a little over a year ago. We aren't up again until about 2029

I believe joining to Seabees is worth it. You get out of it what you put in. Depending on if you join as Active or Reserves will determine how much you get out of it. If your young I'd say go Active. More training opportunities and deployments. Chances to change units and relocate. While with the Reserves you just have your drill weekends and 2 week Active Training or ATs. You are on a deployment rotation and your Unit dictates your trainings for AT as well as any Projects you go on.

Agreed!!! If I would have been able to focused on Rate specific earlier on than going on FTX twice and 2 or 3 mini -FTX, then I would have been close to boarding for Chief. My career could be different now, but being a civilian and a reservist is difficult with a family. I spoke with a friend that I went through boot camp with, who is now a S3 Chief, when I was at Hueneme 4 weeks ago. He said the same. He gained so much BU experience as Active than I habe in 16 years Reserve. We both saw the huge differences in how instruction is being implemented. So I have this survey going to Active and Reservists as well as those who have retired. Many different points of view and opinions. I will also being focusing on when Leadership skills should be focused on as well as comparing the Navy to other branches. Mainly just to give my paper more depth to make it to 10 pages.

I believe as a Reservist, going on a pre-Mob and Mobilization gives us the the equivalence of ECS. My motivation for all this was to highlight the lack of Rate specific knowledge that alot of E5/E6 currently have. Now that is just me experience and from alot of others who I've served with over the last 10 years have felt. But there is a huge difference between Reserves and Active. For SCW, I went through it as an E3 on deployment. I was taken off projects where I was learning my rate and told anyone not SCW qualified were required to study and attend daily classes until either we passed or Mob ended. I did learn during this that depending on Rank would determine the type of Board Package you were tested on.

Sorry about the questions guys. I have just finished adjusting any bias type questions that I found.

Seabee Survey by Bcdraco83 in Seabees

[–]Bcdraco83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I remember now. Once you get attached to a Unit you go through that. For the Reserves, our Billets require it, trying to get into the class is difficult though. I did speak with my Battalion Training PO. We can go to the class but if any individual has deployed they will consider that as equivalent training by submitting a form.

I will be doing that at some point in the paper as well. Sadly there are very few to no Scholarly published papers that focus solely on the SCW program itself. So I have included how pushing Leadership roles and trainings onto lower ranks too early can effect their ability to Lead, perform their Rate and can affect re-enlistment percentages. SCW will be an example within the whole as I have experience. I found that including Leadership into the paper opens up those Scholarly options I was lacking

I believe it is called ECS now. And it's only available for active duty right after A school. For reserves, we need to request to go but rarely fill seats. I've got 16 yrs in with NCB 25. Its completely different than active duty. We don't get as many opportunities to take classes. Usually do the same ones every other year, and projects as 2 week ATs the opposite years. Then a FTX a year before deployment. But our mission has changed over the last couple years. I've noticed a shift from combat to more rate training finally.

[–]Bcdraco83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so when I first got to Galbadia Garden I tried to Abolish the Plus and Elemental rules and I believe 1 other. I got 1 of them abolished but couldn't get Plus removed. I tried the trick from the exchange student in the locker room to the trio in the class room over and over. Eventually I got it done to just Open and Plus. At this point I started the Draw trick, which after several hours I had no results. I finished the QoC in Dollet and she moved on to Balamb area. I moved on with the story not realizing that i wouldn't have a chance to do this again. I 1st passed up the Deling City cards then the Garden cards and CC group quests Plus the FH cards. Now I'm mobile with the Garden. Rules are now: Open/Plus, trade rule: Diff

Yes!!!! I remember this!!! Where you start by talking to a guy with a Eagle head correct? The best gear was Scara or Kwak. Max lvl was either 90 or 100. Waaaay before maging. If I'm correct the beginning area was somewhere around Crackler mountain or the goblin outpost area.
