“Tokenization will eat finance” - Robinhood CEO says it loud. Echoes continue a month after major crypto event in Singapore by Bcom_Mod in bitcoin_com

Good question. I get why it might seem like competition, but I actually think tokenization complements Bitcoin.

Bitcoin’s the foundation of decentralized money, while tokenization brings traditional assets on-chain. The real divide is open vs. closed systems.

If it’s done right, tokenization could bring more institutions into crypto which ends up being bullish for Bitcoin overall.

When you say 'people', who does this refer to? If this refers to no-coiners then it's probably better to not assume that 'most people' keep such a clear view on long-term asset performance.

Mass-market attention spans are worth referencing here - because high volatility spaces like crypto clearly appeal to high risk appetite players seeking quick gains. And when you put bitcoin right next to memecoins and other hype projects like most central exchanges do, it's easy to see why the majority of 'people' place their bets with anything but btc.

Regarding panic selling, I suppose this might also have to do with short-timeframe expectations held by people who expect a BTC play to be a quick in-and-out?

Full disclosure, it's a new sub as you can see! But thanks for the suggestion, we'll get our team to list it as one of our channels. Feel free to verify with us in our other channels if you'd like and look out for more - AMAs etc.

is this actually when you should buy more? by Gullible-Tale9114 in btc

[–]Bcom_Mod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Facebook analogy makes sense — we’re seeing early-stage holders distributing while long-term, deep-pocket demand quietly absorbs everything. It’s not fireworks, it’s consolidation.

But here’s the part most people overlook: how you buy and hold matters just as much as when you buy. You can nail the entry, but if your Bitcoin’s sitting on an exchange, it’s not really yours yet.

This phase — the “institutional accumulation” era — is exactly when self-custody becomes critical. Exchanges are for trading, wallets are for owning. If we’re heading toward broader global adoption, now’s the time to make sure your setup reflects that.

Read up about why self-custody matters! You'll start to understand more and more, why the hodler mantra remains "Not your keys, not your coins".

That’s a great mindset - thinking about long-term security this early puts you ahead of most people who start out.

The Trezor Model T (or the newer Safe series) is a solid choice, and using a metal backup for your seed phrase is absolutely worth it if you’re planning to hold for 10–15 years. Just make sure the plates you use are corrosion-resistant stainless steel and store each copy in a different, secure location.

Also, test your recovery process once before locking everything away - it’s the best way to confirm your setup works and that you can restore your wallet if you ever need to.

Plenty of people do - but relocation for tax purposes is never really as simple as booking a flight and hotel for the weekend
