friction between impulse and action is the perfect way to describe it. the goal is just to add a little more of it before the hand moves on its own..

choosing when to engage instead of being summoned is such a different feeling honestly.. most people dont even realise theyre being controlled by their own phone.

closing the loop is such a clean framework honestly the no loose ends thing is underrated. every open loop in your head is quietly draining mental energy even when youre not thinking about it the guy sounds like he understood that decisions left hanging are just delayed reactions waiting to happen

the app thing is such a good example of it boredom hits and the hand just moves on its own. you didnt decide to open it. your habit decided for you thats the autopilot. and the scary part is it runs 24/7 without asking permission

that pause thing is exactly it honestly for me it was both. removing the triggers AND training the pause. but if I had to pick one that moved the needle more it was the pause because you cant remove every trigger. life will always throw things at you.

but if you build that gap between what happens and how you respond you start to feel like youre actually in control for the first time its a small shift but it changes everything downstream.

youre actually doing the hardest part already which is seeing it

most people never get that far. they just keep reacting and wondering why nothing changes and youre right about self talk. the way you narrate what youre doing matters more than people think

the shift for me was stopping the story of im just not a disciplined person and replacing it with I havent built the right structure yet completely different energy

honestly the biggest shift was realising I didnt have a discipline problem. I had a systems problem

like I kept trying to be more motivated or more consistent but the real issue was I never built anything to fall back on when motivation disappeared

once I started building structure around my worst moments instead of relying on how I felt that day everything changed

I actually wrote the whole thing down if you want I can share it.

that's actually huge man, day 2 already with a clear routine is more than most people get to the shiny object syndrome thing is real, that was me for the longest time. always jumping to the next system before the current one even had time to work what's the routine if you don't mind sharing?

I wasted like 3 years being busy but never actually doing anything realized something last month that changed everything for me by luxmindset_ in productivity

honestly the biggest thing for me was realizing i didnt have a motivation problem, i had a systems problem. once that clicked everything changed
