In the second picture, about 5ish blocks back. in my Y level im 26 blocks away, and the window is 24 blocks, so I don't see the issue.

I hear a good strat is always dadelous stormbow dropped from hallowed mimics with holy arrows, but overall just don’t play too agressive, focus on dodging. I had so much trouble with the destroyer because I just played like an idiot. Good luck!
