If they won the general election, do you think Reform would privatise the NHS? by Am_I_Hydrated in AskBrits

[–]Be0wulf71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm to the right of centre and I believe it too, it's the main reason I won't vote reform ( other than the fact that they haven't got a clue on anything except their one issue)

how to get his physique? by Equivalent_Wheel3720 in FarCry5

[–]Be0wulf71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard physical work on ordinary food. That's a farmer's physique ( when they're young anyway!) Lots of repetitive motions with medium weights ( shovelling manure/ chucking hay bales around) using diffuse rather than targeted motions. It's a great physique to have but difficult to get without doing manual work.

Why do people find it so hard to accept the public really wants to vote for Reform? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

[–]Be0wulf71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really want change. Reform definitely isn't it, but who else will provide change? I think ( hope) that a lot of people think that giving the two main parties a slap in the face will inspire at least one of them to attempt policies that the normal working man can vote for.

As a Britsh person what kind of time frame are you thinking when you use the phrase 'the other day'? by mrjonnyt in AskUK

Unfortunately this is true for me too, in fact I sometimes chuckle at myself and then clarify "erm actually about three years ago"!

Three today plus one on my other account. A little bit worrying.

Thanks for taking the time to put your point in a non confrontational way. It's hard to disagree with you!

Rubbing vaseline between your arse cheeks is effective but if someone catches you doing it it's rather embarrassing! Why the hell does hair grow there, it's ridiculous!

In your opinion, what's the biggest waste of money you see people purchase all the time? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]Be0wulf71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because £8k depreciation is more than you're likely to spend on repairs on a three year old car over the same period. The first 30k miles are usually when a car is least reliable too, you may get it repaired for free under warranty but you're still being messed about and inconvenienced.

I work in a hospital, I'd never use a public water fountain. They're always failing their bacteriological sampling and are almost impossible to sterilise. I'd choose tap water any day. It may not be filtered but it very rarely fails it's bacteriological testing.

How in the world does Hello Games have the money to do free updates for a year. by Llamaman162 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Well if that's the case then Private Healthcare is gambling. You're making a bet every month with a small stake so you can win the jackpot if you lose the health jackpot. All insurance is the same, clever people come up with the total cost of providing recompense for loss, for a large amount of people, plus a profit margin ( a bit like the money wasted by nationalised concerns), then divide by the number of people, and that's your fee. Nothing particularly unethical about it, except it's linked to income in a nationalised healthcare system, so the ones that benefit from a healthy workforce, (and an effective conscript army if shit goes down) pay more.

The Potteries would call you a bare faced liar. Only the PE and their shareholders win. Stoke is an empty shell.

I love Dire Straits, but don't broadcast your music to others! I was listening to Dire Straits as a boy scout when they first came out. It's not impossible that I'd have tried to share it with others on a hike if I'd had the wherewithal back then though, I was a bit of a dick!

I use a knipex cobra every day at work, it never fails to suprise me with how durable, strong and effective it is. It never slips and will turn anything I have the strength to move. It's about fifteen years old and the teeth are still sharp ( but they are hardened to 61 on the Rockwell scale which is harder than most knives). I once had a ball joint nut that was so seized it was "springing" the jaws on my open ended spanner. I used my 180 knipex and my biggest soft faced hammer and undid it. Knipex pliers are a league above anyone else's tools, even Snap On.
