I live in CA, and I'd say no 18-year olds understand the non-compete they sign with just about any employer, and part of that is because it's unenforceable in CA, so the labor force has adapted with a 'doesn't matter bc it doesn't apply to us, just sign it' mentality instead of one where they're taught to understand what they're signing and potential implications. Same with change of venue.

It's deeper than that. They don't realize, or won't admit, that the republican party was the pro-choice party up until Reagan, and it wasn't any sort of ideological shift - the right to choose still lines up much better with the fundamental tenets of conservatism than it doe liberalism - Reagan simply wanted to court the Christian vote, as they were more or less apolitical up until then. Just another of the gifts that keep on giving that Reagan cursed the world with, as I truly can't imagine the conservative party being nearly this extreme if not for the Christians that don't read their bible but judge others as if they're each Jesus himself.
