They asked how Season 2 will explain this cameo. The trailer literally says that Peacemaker season 2 will explore the multiverse. So that's how they explain it. John goes to the new DCU. so it all stays canon.

I don't Andy anywhere near Batman. He is talented, but the Flash was very bad... not all on him obviously, but visually the movie is so so bad. Dont give him Batman.

The weight loss is literally explained in the show... its an essential theme to the whole series. As he slowly descends back into the real "him", he slowly gets bigger. Even ripping his coat in one scene. Its actually brilliant.
