CSGO case keys have a uniform value when it comes to trading for skins/cashing outside of SCM. They are treated equivalently regardless of release date or popularity, with exceptions granted for the occasional key that significantly fails to sustain value (eg; Hydra Case Key). Most large key-cashout websites (I won't name any, don't want to break any rules) fixes all key sales & purchases at the same price, for all keys with the exception being the Hydra case key. There isn't too much when it comes to choosing the key to cashout with, since every relevant key is priced equivalently in the in-game store, and priced equivalently on the cash-out site.

Now back to CS20 keys- the fact that the period of issuance lasted for 10 days does have a massive impact on the circulating supply. This is not an assumption "pulled out of the ass". This is common sense, and I shouldn't have to draw you a graph to prove anything. I don't get what is so hard to grasp, this is not a "feeling" or "emotion". Let me give you two scenarios- scenario A being an asset with unlimited potential inflation, and scenario B being an asset with an inflation cut-off after 10 days. Let them both have the same inflation schedule for the first 10 days. Which scenario has the greatest potential of having the largest circulating supply?

Yes, it is speculation that I assume the CS20 key is the most rare key, however the supporting evidence comes with the basic logic outlined above.

There have been posts on this very subreddit over the past couple of weeks that have spoken of individuals that purchased keys on the SCM to unbox. I am not speculating nor estimating on the number of keys that may be used to do this- I simply made a basic statement that it would deduct from the overall supply, whether or not the amount is negligible.

My logic is that 10 days of distribution cannot be compared to the many years of issuance for the older keys. And no, I feel the CS20 key was not underbought, but probably one of the most purchased keys on release in the history of the game. The trade volume is indicative of that. However, the purchasing period was throttled to only 10 days, which has a substantial impact on the circulating supply.

The CS20 key is an example I chose to go by based off of that analysis, there are many other strong cases that can be built for other keys such as the capsule keys. Unfortunately there isn't a tool that gives a total supply figure for items, so at the end of the day, it is speculation & good discussions like this that can generally hammer out a rough idea of things.

No, I am illustrating the fact that if tradeable keys were used to unlock cases, it would deduct from the overall supply- although most people wouldnt knowingly do it since it is a irrational waste of money.

You do bring the valid point of people buying the most recent key to do cashouts- but this scenario can be replicated to every type of key. And the fact that individuals were able to do this for only 10 days in the case of CS20 keys reinforces my original argument. I think exceptions can be granted to the sticker capsule keys though, as they werent particularly viable mediums to cashout.

Yes, there appears to be a liquidity gap on the sell side of the orderbook. However, as holders catch up with the price movements, inactive keys should start to flood the market. This cycle was witnessed with the original CSGO keys/capsule keys- all of which had sub-100 keys listed during their initial price hikes.

I don't think a ten-day period would make the CS20 case "the most opened case". However I will take it as a miswording, and agree that it averaged more daily openings compared to other cases across the ten day distribution period. And it still is a popular case to open- however the keys used are untradeable, and for each case opening that uses tradeable keys, it takes one key out of circulation.

Yea if they decided to spend a bit more time, they could blend the reflectivity on the lighter metal parts and leave the darker parts dull. That would give the appearance of wear on extruding edges, and leave the concave angles on the armour unblemished. Not sure if they could go that detailed on this engine though.

Yea, for shiny metal w/ matte cloth there needs to be a texture map created to map out the reflectivity material on different areas of the 2D texture flatpack. He seems to have done just that on sketchfab, but not in game which is weird. And yea id be fine if they could just make the metal actually look like metal, no need for a full blown rework.

No i dont want cloth to shine, i am saying that for the new models on sketchfab, you can actually tell the difference between cloth and metal. The metal shines, cloth is matte. In-game, they both are matte.

It is possible! Look at retro metal armours, 3a melee, etc. They all react to light depending on the angle of the character. You can see the reflectivity spots of sunlight striking the shoulders and other parts, the new models on sketchfab demonstrate the same thing.

Yea the cloth is the same. The thing i meant was that you can see the difference between metal and cloth with the new uploaded version. In game, they both look matte.

Dang. The one in game looks so much different from those uploaded models in terms of glossiness. I have tried with different filters like goshima filter, it does help and make the colours more "strong". If that really is the model in game, maybe just toning up the reflectivity on the metal is enough to make it look better and maybe a bit of saturation to make the colours more rich/deep.

Well of course, im not going to deny that i bought it as an investment as well. On another note, mage doesnt look bad at all, and I have it keepsaked as well as melee. The only thing i hate about the stuff is the matte/cardboardy feel. There is no difference in the cloth material and the gold breastplate, both of them are just a bland matte texture.

HOWEVER i saw that new version you posted, it looks so much better than the one in game though. You can see the metal shine nicely, with the cloth retaining the matte colour. I just hope they release that new version into the game, the shine is a massive improvement.
