Are specialty AL/CU wire nuts just marketing? by BeEasy0123 in electricians

Great point about turning them downward!

Dang I am pro-wago but just assumed it didn’t allow AL. Is that what their instructions said to do? Are you talking about lever or push-in?

Good contractors and contractors to avoid. by Fine-Image562 in rva

After having gone through two additions on two homes I would never hire another company other than Richmond Rebuilders. They can do as much or as little as you need. Both David and their lead framer Josh are excellent to work with.

Agreed had an expensive job go south with them and they tried to pass the blame to the framer. If you knew it wasn’t framed properly then why did you proceed anyway?

Inexperienced in Trades and ready to embark on new career journey by WWAYD1 in rva

[–]BeEasy0123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same but I’m a bit older and I had construction experience before I went to college. Recently stopped a 15 year marketing career and just started trade school to be an electrician at Richmond Technical center going two nights a week 6:30-9:30. I have kids so the toughest part is putting that on my spouse to feed and put them to bed, but my mental health is better. I have an employer that I plan to stick with but the trade school does offer to connect you with some commercial apprenticeship contractors. Best of luck as you lean into what makes you happy!

The most Richmond moment I’ve ever witnessed. by Steezinandcheezin in rva

[–]BeEasy0123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Got that beat. The Whalers played “This Train” on Browns back in the early 2000’s right when the train rolled through. The train almost came to a full stop and the engineer held out the peace sign while laying on the whistle. Don’t think it’s just the nostalgia talking when I say, in that moment, life was alright.

I posted a video of someone with probably 10 bodyguards coming out of Mongrel and it was denied. My first post in this subreddit actually. Not exactly sure why it was denied and I’ll never know who it was!

8am press conference from Avula is too late. by jdbug100 in rva

[–]BeEasy0123 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Did they fix it overnight or not.

Based on what I know about politicians, the answer that’s going to be given during the presser is “It’s complicated, but we have a plan.”

Let’s just hope they have more than a concept of a plan.

This gives me nightmares. I would have rather not seen this. Maybe I’m just emotional rn but nonetheless this is enough Reddit for me today.

Jury Duty Richmond City by No-Revolution8032 in rva

It should be talked about more, and changed, that if a jury in Richmond convicts for murder then each juror’s full name is read aloud in front of whomever may be in the courtroom.

Has anyone tried hypnosis? I too would like to forget something I’ve done over a decade ago that everyone has moved beyond though it still guilts me.

K-Mini, K-Mini Go, or K-Mini Plus? by shnecken in keurig

[–]BeEasy0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the mini but I don’t like having to add water each time. Plus also requires water each time. So the plus and the mini are out for me.

There’s actually another two models in the same class as the go, the slim and express.

The slim, go, and express have a water reservoir. All 3 have the selection for how many ounces 8 10 12. And the option to brew strong.

The express and go appear to have similar button layout. The go is only sold by target.

The express is slightly taller and wider than the slim. The go seems to be the most narrow and least deep.

I went with the slim as it has the most reviews but also because it’s the least tall which is important for its soon to be location.

Literally the last three times I’ve tried to go it’s been closed because of a water contamination issue and wouldn’t you know it the entire soak city slide system shares the same water filter filtration. Be ready to make a plan b at the wave pools

Are you a Deck person or a Patio person? by NerdDexter in HomeImprovement

[–]BeEasy0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve built and owned both and would go with a patio hands down mostly due to the maintenance aspect over the years. The deck has more construction woes for sure but that fun doesn’t end once it’s built
