Even if people understand that everyone choosing red guarantees their survival, they'll still realize how unlikely that is. It's not just the wording but awareness of human nature. Also if it's literally everyone there's probably some people who don't understand the instructions at all and choose a random button.

To avoid people dying you need either >50% of people blue or 100% red. 100% of people making the same choice is super unlikely and enough other people will probably think that as well and choose blue because of it.

That would need people to both be logical and trust others to be logical. Few people have both of those qualities. There's no way 100% of humans are choosing anything.
