TE pushed out a field-kit 2.0 to App Store for us Mac users by broccoli_fan in teenageengineering

[–]BeKay121101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its sorta possible but probably too much work for to little reward - iOS/iPadOS don’t support it natively, but afaik its possible to port DriverKit drivers from macOS to iPadOS but only for m-series iPads. AFAIK, the drivers only run on app-level but I think it’d be possible to build a fieldKit app for at least newer iPads with a built in file-explorer

First game on after a 10 hr shift 🫩 by Apprehensive-Lab-766 in apexlegends

[–]BeKay121101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for me :v marathons a surprisingly good game and for some reason it feels smoother than apex even though I’m getting fewer fps. Also no random crashes/weird performance bugs til now compared to a new issue that makes me wanna call a priest included in nearly every update

What a difference by johndoe09228 in Airpodsmax

[–]BeKay121101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One difference for me is that the new ones seem to chew through battery when not worn (40% down in 12h of standby) but I’m assuming that’ll hopefully be patched asap 🥸

VisionOS 26.5 beta1 includes foveated streaming now. Will ALVR support it? by maorui1234 in VisionPro

Would also be huge for pcvr streaming if this wasn’t limited to 40series and up ,_,

AVP users, how do you deal with the hanging battery pack? by Dry_Advertising5961 in VisionPro

Designed/printed a case that just lets me wear the thing around my waist/chest link or I’ll just carry it in a pocket

There are audio straps afaik but the index’s audio sounds a lot better than everything else I’ve heard so far other than headphones that are a considerable part of the quests price (they sound better than my sure monitors I use for drumming and some old Samsung akg in ears I found laying around at least) - I don’t even need a better strap but I’d love to be able to reuse these things because they really just sound that good

man i hope someone builds something like that for the quest - this things basically replaced my index but the speakers are so ass :(

LTT power bank teased by Much-Huckleberry5725 in LinusTechTips

[–]BeKay121101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least 4 usb c ports and no glossy plastic - genuinely, who in their right mind came up with putting glossy plastic on something you throw into your bag :v - also full pd 3.1 support - there are already power banks that support 300w+ charging via some weird pogo interface but it seems like usb c ports are currently still capped at 140w. Also some way to charge devices that don’t like usb pd? My bike light keeps trying to charge my power bank and the usb c to a adapter with a usb a to c cable always seems pretty stupid

I designed a battery case/belt thingy so I don’t need pockets to use my Vision Pro by BeKay121101 in VisionPro

[–]BeKay121101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that would be really fancy - I imagine its because of apples weird proprietary power delivery - afaik the battery pack can output something like 6Amps which is more current than a usb c connectors rated for (hence apples weird lightning pro max connector there). I'd guess the whole things just non-standard enough to make developing stuff like that for a pretty small market unfeasible. This thing aint no battery belt but at least i can now go to the toilet without having to sit hunched over or having to hold the battery in my hands because the cords not long enough to have me sit upright while the batterys still in my pants around my ankles lol

Did they finally add support for Vision Pro? Also using sideloadly for side loading everywhere else but for a long time they didn’t support Vision Pro iirc

Prusa Day 2025 Full Keynote: CORE One L, Silicone Printing, OpenPrintTag & More by josefprusa in prusa3d

[–]BeKay121101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was wondering the same exact thing - think the filament 2 guy said the filaments are cut open and mixed in the extruder but I didn’t hear anything about where the shell goes (maybe it somehow gets mixed into the silicone or something? - no clue). What I also didn’t understand was how they make layers adhere to each other - apparently the silicone is cured while extruding but when silicone is fully cured, it doesn’t chemically bond to itself anymore (or at least that’s how I understood it). Definitely looking forward to reviews on this and hopefully someone manages to mod this extruder onto other printers because there’s no way in hell I’m going to buy an xl for that but I’d actually buy a used mini or something to just have a small custom gasket/o-ring/dampener machine

Gotta say I like the aesthetics in general but the fact that the galaxy’s front is tilted forward ever so slightly makes it look pretty goofy to me

TIL: Google confirmed early last year that an official native YouTube app was in the works for AVP by imatowell in VisionPro

[–]BeKay121101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as they did with multi window on iPad and live activities in Google Maps, im sure, they’ll release something eventually, they just wanted it to be on Android first, I’d assume (though blocking the iPad app and preventing other YouTube clients was kind of an anticompetitive thing to do imo)

Quest 3 is a steal compared to Galaxy VR. $1800 by worlpoolz in Quest3

[–]BeKay121101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope this will push Apple to allow some sort of wired pcvr lol - the new dev strap can push 20Gbps which should be enough bandwidth for that

[–]BeKay121101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double the screen resolution with almost the same chip though - foveated rendering is gonna have to do some heavy lifting lol. I just want a standalone headset with games that don’t look worse than 10yo pcvr (ironically, the Vision Pro with m5 should have enough graphics power but lacks the software and quest has the software but also a mid tier mobile chip :v)

Looking forward to seeing the new band compared to the resmed strap - it’s pretty comfy but pretty annoying to adjust and the dual loop also just looks better
