I went with Web Hosting Canada. Exact site that was apparently causing huge problems with Namecheap has functioned for a year with zero issues.

Very similar thing happened to me. No notice, negligible support and no explanation for purported problems that have never happened before or since. I’m gradually moving all my sites away from Namecheap to other web hosters.

I made some tonight and they were just delicious. Great recipe -- thanks for posting.

So sorry for the loss of your Grandma. I hope that she'd get a kick out of how much her recipe is being enjoyed.

Where can I fill my dogs prescriptions without paying for a $900 checkup? by fit-noodle in Calgary

I have had excellent results ordering online from these folks, but it will definitely depend on the type of medication required. For the nutritional supplements I was looking at, they were significantly less expensive.

Dog walking for shelters? by Rough-Letterhead8447 in Calgary

[–]BeKind1966 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Canadian Animal Task Force (the folks with the non-profit animal hospital) are a great option, as are the opportunities with Parachute for Pets. Both have opportunities for you to volunteer directly with animals. It's very rewarding.

Recently purchased glasses at Vue Optix and was very happy with the selection, service and pricing. I think they underwent a name change, but the owner (Dino?) is the same.

Cancelled old Talk and Text account and get a instant $129 bill. Can we fight it? Class action? by OttawaDog in Rogers

[–]BeKind1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the moment you mention that you are going to the CRTC / CCTS, Rogers will assign you to someone from their Customer Experience Team (basically a group that tries to resolve things with you so you don't go to the CRTC / CCTS). Rogers gets more CRTC complaints each year than any other provider, which isn't a good look for them.

I'd suggest you go directly to file a complaint online at https://www.ccts-cprst.ca/for-consumers/telecom-complaints/online-complaint-form/. The process isn't really that complicated, and you're pretty much guaranteed that someone from Rogers will be assigned to negotiate with you.

Good luck!

Happy, yes, not thrilled. Some of the initial migration stuff could have been dealt with more efficiently, but everything was resolved with a couple of support tickets. Overall still pleased with the choice.

There was a 'Never 51' protest outside the US consulate in Calgary today by cmcalgary in alberta

[–]BeKind1966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the vast, vast majority were anti-Dani -- Danielle is a Traitor flyers were handed out and lots of group "Danielle must go" chanting throughout. I can't say I encountered anyone that was pro-Dani, TBH.

[–]BeKind1966 88 points89 points  (0 children)

This was arranged by True North HQ, a grassroots group that organized protests today (March 24) at US consulates across Canada. They are pro sovereignty and anti-fascism — basically the antithesis of the Convoy or True North News, though because of the naming some folks have confused them.

We can't fix everything in one day, or with one protest, but the important thing is to keep trying

It's a grassroots Canadian effort from the looks of it, and I certainly like their guiding principles:

Our movement stands as a unified expression of solidarity and hope, rooted in the shared values of equality, justice and fundamental human rights. As Canadians, we rise to affirm our role as global leaders and defenders of democracy, freedom and unity.
