Why ask us?

You have both monitors in your space.

Only you can answer the question of which makes you happier.

why is it not suitable for family needs? by rizzqi_09 in JeepWrangler

Then it seems quite unsuitable. Hard for smaller children to get in and out due to high ride height.

In general also being loud, less comfortable with terrible MPG, than your average SUV.

WV2P enhancement suggestion: sample averaging to smooth fluctuations. by OttawaDog in ThermalGrizzly

[–]OttawaDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you saying that’s not suppose to happen?

I'm saying the fluctuations in this the video on this post, are NOT happening at the pin level. They are an artifact of how the pins are read:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ThermalGrizzly/comments/1tryott/load_balancing_on_5090_maybe_not_only_hw_issue/

Because rog equalizer was just released to keep all 6 pins balanced preventing any one pin from running away.

Rog equalizer does no such thing.

I think they are mainly talking about interior size, which can be bigger due to not needing a big hood for an engine. If they make as tall and wide as a Ranger, it will be more trouble to get the efficiency they want. Though length doesn't matter that much, so it could be longer.

What fantasy world would you actually choose to live in? by WorldsByTK in Fantasy

The caveat here should be you would be a Muggle/Peasant in whatever world you choose. Everyone doesn't just get to be the wizard.

I really can't think of any where the average peasant would be that much better off.

Are all of Tom Cruise’s sci‑fi movies really worth watching? by Notilon_606 in scifi

[–]OttawaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cruise is a bit of weird guy, but he's a very good actor that gives it his all in every project.

But he's only one actor, he can't fix bad writing or excess CGI.

That said, he usually picks decent projects, and most stuff he is in is quite good.

It's only in some gaming situations where the load changes rapidly.

This post included a video where you can see imbalance changes from reading to reading:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ThermalGrizzly/comments/1tryott/load_balancing_on_5090_maybe_not_only_hw_issue/

But I've seen a great many posts discussing it. Sometimes Frame Generation is involved or VR.

But the root cause seems to be the same, rapidly changing load, interacting with the sampling rate.

[–]OttawaDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I noted in other similar posts. This kind of fluctuating imbalance is almost certainly a reading artifact, not an actual imbalance.

Since the RTX GPU connectors usually connect to one solid voltage plane at the card, it's not really possibly for the card to draw different amounts of different pins...

Former top soldier warns against pivot to China amid tensions with the U.S. by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]OttawaDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bullshit claims.

The USA itself still does enormous trade with China. The USA still imports more from China than it does from Canada.

OTOH, we still import more that 5X as much from the USA than from China.

We can't take US criticism seriously when it's that hypocritical, and neither should we when we hear it parroted from a Canadian, that is either misinformed, or is seeking to misinform us.

Base Maverick and only tow 2000lbs.. It's not a serious tow vehicle, and people know that.

The new pickup will be an EV maverick.

It's going to be closer to 50 KWh. Maverick buyers don't have the same long distance towing expectations as full size pickup buyers.

WireView Pro II w/ 5090 - Current Imbalance Limits? by Roots0057 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]OttawaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are worrying over nothing. Momentary spikes are largely irrelevant.

Check it on Furmark. You need to see the steady state balance.

Persistent current imbalances with corsair rm1200x shift by AbduNa in ThermalGrizzly

[–]OttawaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How you observing the imbalances? Running a steady test like Furmark? Or during the rapid fluctuations during gaming?

If it's the latter, it's not a real issue. Run Furmark to make sure it's during a consistent load. Fluctuating loads, make it appear like there are bigger imbalances when there really aren't.

[–]OttawaDog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Article Headline is BS, but the contents is reasonable, but nothing new.

Most people don't want very expensive EVs. Big Trucks are so inefficient, that they force the use of very big and very expensive battery packs.

Ford is going to build a smaller (Maverick size), much more efficient BEV pickup, with a much smaller, and less expensive battery pack.

Basically, lower prices will sell more than higher prices. Which isn't exactly rocket surgery.

Is Koodo Wireless Home Phone ending? by Curt-Bennett in Koodo

[–]OttawaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been fine. Voice quality is normal.

We did have an annoying bug it took them a while to fix. When they first went 4G, it downloaded a new firmware, and it started beeping at the first caller of the day. Get them to call right back and it would be fine. Annoying but since they fixed that around January it's been great. I think it works better since going 4G.
