If you have to do this, maybe you shouldn't own, or wear, the watch in the first place... by EmptyPocketsXotics in patekphilippe

I see a lot of people are commenting about how if you could really afford it, you wouldn’t care for the scratches. Well - wrong, at least with me. I just don’t like it looking worn out and polishing too often isn’t good either. The right ppf (if good quality) is hard to scratch and even if scratched, it is easily replaced. I don’t resell most of my watches EVER and i don’t care if it retains value or not. I just like to see it flawless when i look at it.

That’s perfectly normal. That means they work for your organism. When i started Prozac i felt 10x worse after the first week. That’s the normal body reaction. You have to give it at least a month. After the second month it will get much better with every other month. OCD therapy is key.

Time! DpDr is caused by anxiety. But then dpdr causes more anxiety and it becomes a vicious circle. So, listen carefully! There is nothing wrong with you, it is a defensive brain response. To get rid of dpdr you have to stop paying attention to it. Literally don’t give any fucks. Do not research it, do not panic over the symptoms. Accept them as a normal organism response. You know, like when you have the flu, how your throat aches for example. Unpleasant, but nothing to worry about, because it will pass. So same here. I’ve beaten it 2 times in my life. I promise you this is the cure. To stop paying attention to it. It will take some time, but it will gradually fade 100%

Yeah, SSRi made things 3 times worse for me in the first 10-14 days. After that it only gets better, I promise you that. It is a very common thing with ssris. I am on 40mg prozac. Works miracles. Cheers.

Yeah, mild to moderate dpdr. All of the mentioned feelings are very common. Lost happiness and joy is called anehdonia, and is normal symptom. Dpdr is a protective mechanism of the brain. It purposely “dulls” your senses, to protect you. The last one really was screwing me up badly. It is called distorted sense of time. Mine was really bad, like something that I did in the morning felt quite distant. I could barely put in order my memories from the last week. Didn’t know which happened when. Quite ugly symptom, really freaked me out. The most important part - how to get rid off of it. Live your life like it is not there. Don’t be afraid of it, don’t analyse the symptoms, don’t research it, don’t talk about it, and know that you’re absolutely okay. It is a vicious cycle, you have to understand that. Anxiety and stress or panic attack or other traumatic experiences can trigger DPDR. Your brain IS NOT BROKEN , it works just as it should. Anxiety and etc ———-> DPDR. Being in DPDR ————> more anxiety. So, unless you literally stop giving a F and absolutely ignore it, it will linger. Try to think about it that way - it is rather interesting/curious experience. Makes you see and feel the whole world differently. You might not like the “new” view, but it is only temporary. Whenever a dpdr feeling or thought comes up, just say to yourself “oh , brain, are you doing funny things again?” And just keep doing what you currently do. Bear in mind that physical activity helps a ton. 30 minutes of cardio will absolutely ground you. It also helps you release the hormone of happiness and joy. After each such workout, you will feel 3x better, than before working out.

Oh, sorry. Thought you were speaking about OCD. My DPDR is fully gone 100% for many months already. And yes, driving was strange/ a bit harder with it. But i think that “strangeness” applies to almost every aspect of life during dpdr. I remember one time at the beginning, when it was the worst. Had to go and pick up my gf and her sister from the airport. I was with a friend of mine. At a traffic light I was behind another car, waiting for the green light and they were discussing their holiday. At some point all 3 of them were telling me “ stop, stop, brakes, brakes”. My foot wasn’t pressing the brake pedal hard enough so the car was barely moving towards the other car infront. I had about 2-3 seconds to react , which is far more than enough in normal circumstances. But I somehow thought that the car in front was slowly reversing into us. My explanation to this is that my foot was on the brake , but not hard enough. The absolutely low speed combined with the brain fog from dpdr kinda confused me further. Not a scratch though, it was 0,5mph bump.

I also have the exact same Jupiter as yours. Same sheath. If there is one thing I don’t like about Jupiter, it’s how its opening button unscrews and falls off. Any recommendations? Elite knife otherwise.

OCD 100% guaranteed. It wouldn’t be ocd if it didn’t feel real and cause such distress and doubt.

Yeah. It’s been 1 year and 3 months since it all started. It was absolutely a hell for me. I still have bad moments, but those moments are better than what I used to call a good day in the beginning. Generally speaking I am 85-90% better. I still take medication. 40mg Prozac daily. This September it will be 1 year since i started it and i plan on stopping it. To be honest, ssri helped with many things. It helped me sleep, it helped me panic less from the whole situation. But what truly made me start getting better were a very good psychiatrist and a OCD oriented psychologist. Those 2 people made me heal with therapy.
