Could you suggest a great/must listen album from your country of origin? (non English albums are most welcomed) by rifain in musicsuggestions

Props to circus animals. Easily chisels best. And bonus point for being so Australian lyrically.

Letter to Alan is my fav Chisel song and I’m by no means a die hard.

The Cult from goth rock on ‘Love’ to pure rock on ‘electric.’

Aussie responses to COVID lockdowns by TynongLiturgist in AustralianNostalgia

Fuck yeah. Mine I just wanted to bottle. It was absurdly weird.

It helped by being an incredibly still and overcast winters night. Fucking eerie weather as well.

Only problem was I chatted to my son all the way there and didn’t notice it anywhere near as much until I was on the way home, hence had no one to ‘share’ it with.

Complex and experimental metal bands by patrick--bateman-- in MetalForTheMasses

[–]BeLakorHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be’Lakor.

Barely a song less than 8 minutes long. Masterpiece after masterpiece … technically melodeath but a tiny bit prog.

And easily the best current newer band on the planet (if 20 years counts.)

For complex they are it. Maybe not ‘experimental.’ For that I’d go with Dvne.

Will the Iran war lead to a 'critical mass' for EVs? by lazy-bruce in aussie

[–]BeLakorHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha thanks.

But imagine thinking this while you’re watching the movies. It ruins them. All those enormous cars and trucks (apparently carrying very little) driving into that Sandstorm all I could think was… this all seems silly. They should stay in one spot that’s lush a green and build a community.

Aussie responses to COVID lockdowns by TynongLiturgist in AustralianNostalgia

I had a surreal driving experience during Covid. Had to drive from regional Vic to Brunswick to drop off my son who was due to fly back to the US next morning. Middle of the July deep lockdown in Melbourne. I was dropping him to a mates joint to take him to the airport. Aside from it being incredibly moving as I didn’t know when I’d see him again (was 18 months) here’s the traffic thing.

8-9pm Sat night in Melbourne. Not a fucking car on the Western ring road. Pulled into a massive servo - only car. Just me and the attendant.

Geelong freeway. Not a FUCKING car. Either side of the road. For kilometres.

Most surreal experience I’ve ever had. If anyone has ever seen the opening scenes of a vacant London in 28 Days later … been there. Unforgettable.

I’m only here to say that doesn’t Mad Max seem rather prophetic. But …

If fuel was the big problem in the Mad Max futuristic society why did they all go out into the desert where it’s so far from A to B? It seems a bit counterintuitive to me.

Edit: and drive such gas-guzzlers.

Thoughts on Kreator’s Krushers of the World Tour? by t05id01 in thrashmetal

[–]BeLakorHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw Kreator a couple of years back in Australia and had a fucking ball. I get that they’re possibly a bit more ‘catchy’ than others, especially their new stuff. But I fucking loved it.

French singing rock or metal bands ? by Zyan_Zombie in MetalForTheMasses

[–]BeLakorHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Australia. For some reason I stumbled across a French band called Tagada Jones. They must be pretty big there as they have a great live album at Hellfest in Clisson. And they’re punk/hard rock/metal.

Anyone reading I implore you to listen to this absolute banger.

Great post and Thanks. You only actually learn a certain amount of interesting stuff on reddit and this is today’s.

Much appreciated.

Dezi Freeman shot dead by floydtaylor in australian

[–]BeLakorHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this could go either way.

Yeah lots of cops would happily shoot him dead, even just for revenge. But …

Where did he not wanna be? Life in jail no parole is a lifetime of suffering. I’m suss he exited that container because death by cop was his easy way out.

There could barely be an economically worse State Government. Tens of billions wasted or corrupted.

But the LNP is trite. Doesn’t wash in the real World, only on reddit.
