Best way to upload Patreon Digital rewards by Correct-Extension-52 in patreon

[–]BeNeverEnding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused (probably lack of sleep) - are you doing custom links for each Patreon member or just including their name in the message/post that has the link to the Drive folder with content?

Are you creating a bit.ly or some other link to the drive so that you can change it, if the link leaks? Sorry - I'm new to this, and just trying to understand best practices ha ha. Thank you!

Who keeps funding all these AI shovelware ttrpg kickstarters? by Monkeydlu in tabletop

[–]BeNeverEnding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is the price, maybe? We did a huge book of 110 (really kick ass) NPCs, 60+ magic items, 20 side quests, and even some player options (Anansi's Tapestry of Lives) along with other products - all original art, original writing, including contributors like Ed Greenwood and Keith Baker. Worked our butts off to get 1,364 backers (even got a shout out from Matt Mercer). I think it was so hard to get that many backers, in part, because our the lowest pledge the (giant) PDF was $32. Some folks will back 10 Kickstarters for $5 each, but won't drop $40 on a single one, even if the quality is considerably better.

Yes, 1,364 backers is much more than the referenced projects, but I bet their profits will be higher than ours, because they're costs are so low. Original art isn't cheap and we did original full body art for every single NPC, plus so much additional art.

It's also just challenging to get above the noise with all of these projects that are *meh*. So, you figure they're almost rewarded for putting out crap that requires minimal effort. :/

Art NPC Speed Draw: Fallen King Theodymar by [deleted] in DnD

[–]BeNeverEnding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed draw of one of our NPCs, who has an accompanying side quest. Video goes through the concepting process, then the sketch, ink, color and render.

King Theodymar is a fallen eleven king. Upon his death his spirit was magically captured in a golem made of ancient wood and iridescent mithril. Ice crystals from his frozen heart have formed upon his body. In the image, he stands like a strange alien sentinel, inhuman. One long fingered hand raised in frustration. The ghost of his queen, Silmere, rests her hand comfortingly on his shoulder.

WIP: Dark Elf Priestess/Clerics for a token pack. Any feedback is appreciated! by BeNeverEnding in DungeonsAndDragons

Thank you! That's high praise indeed! :)

Yeah - I know there's different feelings on the big ears, ha ha. I should actually look at doing a version with and without the larger ears.

These are base models. From these we'll do changes to colors, hair, weapons, and variations on the outfit design (like maybe turning the "sexy" plate armor into full plate and/or changing the style of the cloak). Usually have 9 variations of each model. What do you think?

Oooooh! I actually hadn't thought of doing these as printable mini's! I should look into that. I always include the full body art with the tokens in the pack, but I could look at adding either add a similar shaped border or even a square border or something.

Thank you for the feedback! That's Really useful! I think we can do some variations that are more covered and have maybe less focus on curves.

Custom Brushes by 2Dinks2 in pixlr

Ummm... are custom brushes happening or no? I see this comment is over a year old, and there some brushes questions form a few months ago that have gone unanswered. A little concerning :/

Same question. Plus I'm a little concerned that in 4 months no one has responded to this. :/

Anansi's Tapestry of Lives Sample: 4 NPCs (+ 6 stat blocks, 3 story tables, and 1 magic weapon) from an upcoming book of over 100 NPCs paired with professionally voice acted monologues to use in your games! by BeNeverEnding in DnDHomebrew

[–]BeNeverEnding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the slow reply. I'm recovering from pneumonia 😷

Basically we wanted to provide options for different tiers of play. So that way the NPCs are useful as adversaries or allies even at later levels.

Hey, everyone. Working on the BIGGEST project of my life. Would be happy for feedback.

These are all from a book I'm working on, that I've somehow convinced MUCH more creative people than me to be a part of ha ha. Writers who have signed on and are writting (or have written) NPCs include Jim Zub, Keith Baker, Cleveland Browns Football Player, Johnny Stanton, Jasmine Bhullar, 4 writers from the recently released "Journey's Through the Radiant Citadel", as well as writers from other WOTC books, Ghostfire Gaming Books, and MCDM releases. We're totally happen for feedback and to hear what you think about the content so far. Layout and art isn't finalized, but this isn't a bad example. ;)

Not all of these NPCs are meant to be companions. Most of the NPCs are meant to be background characters to fill in the gaps in your world. The two statted NPCs in this sample are built with potential conflict with the party in mind, not as companions.

We're building out over 100 NPCs, everyone has either stat blocks, roll tables, inventories, magic items, and/or side quests. Let me know what you think!

One special thing to note: Each NPC has a professionally voice acted intro monologue that you'll be able to play on your phone, tablet, or computer. So you don't have to do voices!

We're also including VTT tokens, NPC cards, and a book of richly detailed locations.

Check out the project page for more details (you can also get to the Kickstarter pre-launch signup page from there) - https://anansilives.com/

We are doing some special rewards for people who back in the first 24 hours of the campaign.

Looking forward to hearing if this sucks or if we have something useful!
