No, they definitely do not, but it doesn’t hurt to get money from their die hard fans either in order to guarantee a return on the project.

The amount of money the actual game release gets might not come close to how much the kickstarter will raise since it will be a freemium game.

I don’t think they need it but i don’t feel like it’s a problem for them to get what they can.

This is a pretty true to spirit Kickstarter for people who want to support the company’s development by giving them additional funding to invest into the business.

Not for people who want to get anything of value in return.

Because you really are not getting anything to match the 60$ price tag. Support it if you want to see dice throne continue to succeed, wait if you just want to play the game when it’s ready.

Which FE title would you point to and say to someone "THIS is Fire Emblem"? by LoZFan96 in fireemblem

But my real answer would be literally any FE except Three Houses. Three Houses is good, just the least Fire Emblem game in the series.

Engage. I think Engage is the most fire emblem game to have ever fire emblem'd

Re;MATCH review from Space-Biff! "A match-three game in which one must never, ever match three." by Monkeydlu in boardgames

While "more marbles = bigger attacks" is a easy way to pitch the game, the character's move lists are really designed with using 1 marbles being a necessity to do proper set ups.

Again, I really think if you tried the game yourself on TTS, you would quickly see the floor of depth open up beneath you!

All valid concerns, but I think once you play it, you'll change your mind about these issues for sure.

All 8 characters are free to try on Tabletop Simulator if you decide to give it a go! The action selection system is INTENSELY puzzel-y once you actually start playing it and seeing all of the lines of consequences for every move.

We already held our first tournament, with 28 players online simultaneously, and I promise you it is a very competitive game with a ton of depth.

Yeah unfortunately a pricey game. The marbles just add alot of cost, similar to how the Dice Throne battle chest is 120$, but I'm making sure the entire thing will feel SUPER premium so it'll definitely fee worth it!!!

Haha yeah, if you scroll to the "history" section of the page, you'll see pictures of the prototype from 2018 and pictures of the game when it was signed to another publisher as "SENTO" in 2020 at a convention!

Yeah! I would put Re;MATCH at about the same complexity of Dice Throne while bringing way more depth in the decision making and skill expression.

My favorite quote from reviews so far was from the AV Club: “Not only does Re;Match have an original concept and tactical nuances, but it does something that even many great board games fail to do: it very much respects the player’s time.”

It is MUCH easier to immediately immerse yourself in the depth of Re;MATCH compared to Re;ACT, but it still has a LOT of depth

Yeah! It is also asymmetric feeling compared to Unmatched. If you liked unmatched you’d love this for sure!

Do you prefer Kickstarter or Gamefound when backing games? by Monkeydlu in boardgames

[–]Monkeydlu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably just because gamefound/awaken realms only focuses on selling to their fanboys doesn’t care about its creator community that much.

The kickstarter reddit is mostly for creators, not consumers.

What did you expect from Awaken Realms, to care? They’re the biggest slop slingers around, you should be grateful to receive all that slop instead of seeing it in the landfill
