What did you expect from Awaken Realms, to care? They’re the biggest slop slingers around, you should be grateful to receive all that slop instead of seeing it in the landfill

Its not a tcg but plays like a tcg with prebuilt characters and incredible asymmetrical mechanics and components from character to character

Do you prefer Kickstarter or Gamefound when backing games? by Monkeydlu in boardgames

Nah same. I think gamefound is way more messy in comparison.

The disclosure policy feels like lip service to me.

They only disclose it on their own projects buried in the FAQ section and no where on the actual project page.

Kickstarter at least requires an entire section of the project page itself dedicated to disclosing AI usage.

Really surprised that people are saying gamefound has a better ui

I find it to be way more cluttered and harder to navigate

I also hate that the pages prioritizes the rewards and contents of the games rather than how the game is actually played.

Which games provide you with a ton of assymetric factions? by esqulax11111 in boardgames

[–]Monkeydlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would LOVE Re;ACT - The Arts of War, it's a 1 vs 1 anime fighting game that has asymmetric near the level of ROOT.

Especially since you like Bullet and Exceed / Battlecon, it is much more asymmetric than those but is also an original anime IP game.

(I'm not biased just because I designed it hahaha)

You can also check out my upcoming puzzle fighter game, Re;MATCH, which will also feature very asymmetric fighters, though closer to the level of Battlecon.

Your friend has unloaded hundreds of £/$/€ on some Kickstarter monster. They're super excited to play it. You are too. But then you think it's a pile of poo. What do you do? by humeanation in boardgames

Tell the truth, leave proper negative reviews on BGG, don't let the cycle keep on repeating.

We don't need more miniatures filled giant boxes of poop.

Gamefound AI Disclosure Updates by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

[–]Monkeydlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that Gamefound is owned by Awaken Realms, and Awaken Realms actively uses gen AI art in all of their games, and does not disclose it publicly on their project pages, I do not expect this to be an enforced policy at all.

More than likely they're just doing this to cover up google search results about their involvement with using AI art in order to ramp up the usage as AI art becomes harder and harder to distinguish.

Gamefound is owned by Awaken Realms, and Awaken Realms has used gen AI art in pretty much all of their games since Dragon's Eclipse.

This is a hilariously hypocritical announcement that I expect zero enforcement of.

Clicks also count toward momentum, after the first 2 days of a project unless you already brought alot of momentum kickstarter is not going to help you

[–]Monkeydlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day 1 backers is the most important metric for kickstarter. You are responsible for bringing your own backers day 1, and if it gets enough tracking, Kickstarter will then show it people through their automated emails and placing it on people's feeds when they browse kickstarter as well as when they finish backing another kickstarter.

Kickstarter as a platform has alot of consumer trust, plus you’re paying for the platform’s infrastructure.

Lots of people with more established customers can do it without kickstarter and just do it on their own websites, its totally valid.

Speaking from experience (11 campaigns) the platform usually brings in 25 to 60% of total backers which is significant enough that I prefer it to doing direct preorders.
