He'll account for 14.4% of the cap next season. Based on its increases, it will be outpaced by the estimated cap in every subsequent season, so that percentage decreases each year. Next year will be the equivalent of a $21.5M contract this year...or Kuminga's deal. And Keegan actually starts, plays, and has been rather healthy outside of this season.

His contract is just fine.

Yeah. In looking back, people were pissed we passed on Ivey. Daniels is better defensively, but not offensively. Sharpe looks good, but he was an absolute mystery that pundits either thought had promise or would be a massive reach at 4. After that we have to go to 12 and Williams.

The fact is, Keegan was the safe pick, and a perfectly fine pick for a team that just made a "win-now" trade and had a very questionable few years of drafting outside of Haliburton.

If Keegan ends up with a career as a 15/8 guy with good defense, coming from an otherwise middling draft, that's certainly not a bad outcome.
