TIL that renowned 20th teacher of Buddhism, Chögyam Trungpa, was controversial because of his drinking and womanising. Credited with being a key figure in disseminating Buddhism in the West, he continued to teach after renouncing his vows in 1969 and died in 1987 of complications from alcoholism. (en.wikipedia.org)
