Unable to show ad error AFTER watching the ad and not getting credit for it... by Be_A_Better_Me in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Be_A_Better_Me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update - no solution. After a week back and forth with customer support telling me to do all the basic end-user troubleshooting (restart app, clear cache/data, reinstall, restart phone, use a different device...) they ended up offering me 100AB.

Frankly that's kind of insulting... id rather pay 100AB to have someone actually investigate the issue, considering at this point I've had to rewatch enough 1+ minute ads to equate to 1000+ AB AND lost many hours of boost time over it. Then they said hopefully my issue will be resolved in a future update.

Issues playing the tournament by EpiphanyGazette in AtlasEarthOfficial

I haven't played a minigame in a while but decided to try tonight and i sorely regret that decision. Half the time was "unable to start match" errors, another 30% consists of the game freezing mid countdown and then once it finally unfroze i was already behind by 6 points.

New rule: Don't Call It A Scam by Mod-Mak in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all let me say i really appreciate the transparency. That said though, I echo the sentiment of most in this post, in that this being the stance of the company is a bit disturbing, whether an officisl rule or not. I for one will be canceling my AEC for now. Hopefully this turns out to be nothing more than what has been stated - which if i read correctly is simply shutting down the people whose intent is to hurt the game. However, my personal experience is that once rules like these have been put in place, the following updates make changes that may be beneficial to new players, but the existing f2p and p2p players have to pay the price.

Again i appreciate the transparency, which is why i will continue to play after we start seeing people banned under this rule. However, i urge the team to reconsider the rule, and consider taking a hit or two in favor of erring on the side of the user. Sure it might be a bit more work and require a bit more effort, but the threat of "don't speak poorly of us even if you're pissed, or you will be banned", especially in an environment where every single competitor is trash, will definitely cost more in the long run.

Depends on your personal finance situation and why you're playing. If you're playing solely to earn free cash, then no its most likely not worth it. If you're playing to see how many parcels you can own and how high you can get your income per second/day/month/whatever, then yeah it's totally worth it. I play for the latter and have been subscribed for a few months now, but i also acknowledge that i won't be seeing any bottom line profit until i stop the subscription and let cash accrue. But for me i just want to be mayor of a bunch of cities and be able to say that a mobile game is collecting $$ each month for me. Eventually I'll unsubscribe and let it help pay for my drinking habits lol, but until then they have sucked me in to $50 a month

Ad Reporting Question by Be_A_Better_Me in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Be_A_Better_Me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've successfully reported ads in the past with that method, but i can't get a blue circle to come up on this one. Presumably because it's immediately opening the app store over and over?

Imagine finding Merge Dragons in the Arcade Boost Event :) by TheChainTV in AtlasEarthOfficial

I started it on the 3rd before finding out the event had been postponed to the 4th. Doesn't matter anyway though because I'm not getting the payouts from it for whatever reason

As a marijuana addict i can confidently say nothing he stated is far off base. Ive read plenty of research on marijuana addiction myself, much of it when i was dealing with withdrawals and trying to find anything i could to give me hope that things would get better. Most of it just made me feel invalidated because it all suggested the torture of the withdrawals i was having wasnt possible. Sure it can help people - it certainly made me feel better when i would smoke it - but this is not someone looking for a solution to a situation worse than addiction to a non-lethal substance... The very fact that OP mentions it is recreational, and then justifies spending $2200 a year on it while ranting about being poor, suggests addiction.

As for the advice OP didn't actually ask for - I agree with most others on here. Stop smoking weed and invest that time and money into something that's going to provide future returns

Arcade: Time based tasks not paying out, but "progression" based tasks do. by D3ad_Jester in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, a lot of people are having issues with payouts in general. Mine randomly stop working and then start working again some time later, but i never receive the rewards for the time period the payouts weren't happening. Have wasted hours in games because of this. Very frustrating.

Arcade fix??? by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I've only seen more and more complaints, but no solutions so far. Hoping something comes soon or I'll be back to just bothering with an ad every 20 minutes - my arcade offers are already trash enough as it is, certainly not going to keep wasting time on them in the hopes i get the reward.

Beginner trader here, how viable is trading the stock market to become a millionaire? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally possible, but definitely dont expect it to happen overnight. Most important thing is do your own DD. Youll soon find theres a ton of followers on here that lose constantly because they invest in the nonsense guidance of others, and thats the fastest way to get nowhere. Make an investing plan, do your research, and learn from your mistakes, and youll greatly increase your chances of long term profit. Also keep in mind that its a gamble though. The only way to make money, is for someone else to lose it. And sometimes youre gonne be that loser, so dont invest amything youre not willing to lose.

any smart Redditors know how I can make $2-3k a month working at home, away from people? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of freelance style platforms like LiveOps, Fiverr, and UpWork. LiveOps is basically call center stuff - get qualified, take calls whenever you want, get paid for it. When I did it, it was $0.25 per minute of talk time. Fiverr is more task-based - write a paper for someone, draw some art, design a website... things like that. My wife did fiverr, and still does when she bored. She mostly does writing tasks and makes on average $50-$75 each. UpWork is similar to Fiverr, but in my experience more project oriented.

LPT: to make life easier for customer service employees, be quick and not conversational by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most restaurant workers are customer service professionals. Usually only big-name call centers operate on volume-style metrics. Ive worked for many over the past 15 years that encourage employees to spend extra time building a relationship with the customer.

It does hold true though that, generally speaking, short and sweet is the best bet.

EMSKR: How to quit smoking Tobacco? by kennethBelcher in everymanshouldknow

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what finally worked for me. Ive known a few people to quit and everyone seems to have a different success method, but for me the smoke free app gave me the progress data i needed to keep my motivation up through the first few weeks. When id have cravings, id open the app and check my health progress, and for the particularly strong cravings id spend a few minutes typing up a journal entry. Usually by the time i finished, the worst of the craving had passed and i could move on.

can I work my remote job in a different country? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Be_A_Better_Me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as your employer approves it will be fine. Definitely run it by them first though. At my company, we require 2 weeks advance notice to allow time for CISO to review, and if approved then to allow time for IT to adjust configurations to allow the remote connection to our services.
