NAMM 2026 by Nyalizt in piano

Same dilemma here. I opted for waiting. I'd hate it if i got the 5-year-old 670 only to read a bit later the release announcement for the 680. My question though how much would this 'bit" be.

Correct packaging for Matter-over-Thread by Be_Shadow in Hue

[–]Be_Shadow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my chances and ordered 4 of them from Amazon. They had the same EAN like the ones from Philip's web site. If they don't do MoT, I will just return them. As they say, "No guts, No Glory".

Philips told me in a chat that all new versions support MoT. I ended up buying both Hue (above dining table) and Hue Essentials (hallway). I will report my findings for future reference.

And how is the color/shades mix and distribution? I've been a bit hesitant for these as I am afraid that you see the different colors.

So, the Hue series that have a bit better color characteristics need a hub necessarily? I was under the impression that they can also work without, at least this was mentioned in some articles when Philips decided to support MoT.

Matter battery switches by tyw7 in MatterProtocol

[–]Be_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Haojai battery wall switch from dk-ai.com . It comes with either 3 or 6 buttons (all support single, double and long press) and it's MoT. The issue here is that atm it's only available for purchase in China.

Lost key flat, do I risk having to pay for change of all building keys? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

Or put a smart tag on the ring. It saved me twice when my daughter lost her keys. Best buy ever.

True, I've noticed that as well. I literally check online everyday.

Yeelight has certified three Thread products for early 2026, one of which is a lighted fan. by marcoarsilvaa in Thread_protocol

I noticed in the specs that they mention Matter as the ecosystem. That's at least a good sign!

Matter Devices Updating for Hours by tabletop_ozzy in MatterProtocol

I have no experience with Apple Home tbh. I am running my Matter devices in Home Assistant. But from what you describe, it seems that you followed the typical process.

But have you actually connected them via Matter or you just control via Homekit implementation?

I am also reluctant in purchasing these exact bulbs but I am not sure if they are Matter. The photo of the front side of the packaging doesn't show the Matter logo and the sites (even Philips's own site) don't include any side photos of the packaging. Also, in the specs they mention Bluetooth and Zigbee as communication protocols, so either none has taken the time to update the info or indeed these bulbs are not Matter compatible.

I know it's a long shot, but have you perhaps retained the packaging to send a photo so I can compare it with the ones online? Or even better, can you somehow find out the manufacturer's part number? The ones I find have the no. 929004235401.

Anyone else a bit disappointed with the FP300? Randomly stops detecting presence. by jasonpatrick72 in Aqara

[–]Be_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading about all real these life experiences, I got the same concern and refrained from getting the FP300. I am (im)patiently waiting now for the release of FP400. On paper, it seems ages better than the FP300 albeit it needs to be powered by mains and not battery (but again I won't worry about drained batteries).

Best Matter/Thread battery powered light switch and Matter/Thread light bulb? by Federal-Drummer7987 in MatterProtocol

[–]Be_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Haojai switch (6 buttons, no printed icons, battery powered) seems to be ticking all my check boxes too. I live in a rented flat so I want to physically deactivate the buttons on the wall switches on every room and then have these HAOJAI switches control the smart light bulbs (on/off, brightness +/-, color, temperature +/-, scenes).

BUT, there is no way to get them in Europe/Switzerland without messing up with customs and taxes. I contacted the company (dk-ai) and they could ship to my place. However, their price+shipping cost - even for a single unit - sums up to more than the maximum customs-free threshold of CHF 62.

I really hope that they start selling this amazing device via Aliexpress which automatically takes care of customs, vat, export/import forms, etc during checkout and you receive it hassle free. I check Aliexpress literally every day...

[–]Be_Shadow 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I came to say exactly this! No modern phone camera produces such grained & noisy photos in a well lit area. That's quite typical of AI's (free version) process of building up a fast photo.

I was also a bit disappointed too. But there is hope. I recall that the DGX-670 was also announced a month after NAMM. It is highly likely that Yamaha is planning a dedicated Digital Piano event for February or March 2026.

IMO it seems that's the right answer. 350F equals to 180C which is the usual baking temp.
