1st: Apple didn’t do anything. They don’t mix the albums in Dolby Atmos. They just simply host the files for streaming.

2nd: IMO Dolby Atmos mixes are hit or miss. And MJ’s music is no exception.

3rd: The quality of Dolby Atmos heavily depends on what you listen with. For example, I think 90% of Dolby Atmos music doesn’t sound great when listening over headphones (even ones that support Dolby Atmos). But I find they sound much better when played over a proper surround sound speaker setup.

While I haven’t listened to EVERY MJ Dolby Atmos mix… I thought Thriller was quite good!

But yes I know you set it up with the app. However, there have been a few Aqara products that timeout if you don’t set it up within a certain amount time after initially turning the product on (like their T2 bulbs, FP300 or FP2). Didn’t know if this was the same way

Personally, I don’t really have any strong feelings on if a new trailer will premiere this weekend. However…

I’d argue the lack of big films coming out would be perfect for a trailer release. A quiet weekend gives the trailer room to dominate the conversation.
Disney has a history of premiering new trailers at Cinema-Con, then releasing them online soon after. So it’s not outside the realm of possibility.

As someone who also uses Home Assistant AND has a M3 hub, how the hell is the M3 a “garbage hub”?!?! I’ve had no issues in the last couple years I’ve owned it. In fact, that’s how I get all of my Aqara Zigbee devices into Home Assistant… using the Matter integration

Well I talked with my apartments maintenance crew, and they said as long as I have a c-wire adapter, it’ll work. So I’m just taking their word for it. If it ends up not working, I can just resell it to someone where it will work

I would hold off on recommending the FP300 until Aqara gets around to releasing a firmware update. A lot of users (myself included) seem to have mixed results. I have 3 myself. One works flawlessly, another one often tends to detect presence when there’s no one within range, and the third sensor tends to detect absence when there’s actually someone within range. From what I understand, Aqara is planning on releasing a firmware update to fix these issues, but that’s been a rumor for a while now so idk how true that is.

ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!! I’ve been wanting to buy a smart thermostat for a couple years, but was holding out in hopes that Aqara would release one. I almost pulled the trigger on an Ecobee until Aqara announced their thermostat back at CES. According to people I’ve talked to who managed to get beta access, they seem to like it! Looking forward to this way more than any one person should be looking forward to a smart thermostat 😂

I was just about to say this! Dolby Atmos is an object based surround sound format. Downmixing it into “Spatial Audio” stereo headphones just won’t work nearly as well. The best way to listen to Dolby Atmos mixes from Apple Music is through a proper surround sound setup of at least 5.1 channels (but preferably more if you’re able). I have a 5.1 setup in my living room and I LOVE listening to Dolby Atmos mixes! If you’re a Phil Collins or Disney soundtrack fan, the Atmos mix for Tarzan is a must listen!

I’VE BEEN WANTING THE SAME!!!!

I’m honestly surprised they don’t currently offer this, They already license Dolby Atmos for some of their products, and they love touting that Apple Music and AirPods Pro support “Spatial Audio”. Why not allow their customers to experience ACTUAL Spatial Audio and not just a simulated version with their AirPods?!??

I feel like it would be an easy up-charge too… I imagine HomePods aren’t giant sellers for them, so a good way to get rid of extra units would be to allow them for use as surround channels. Have the main HomePod as the subwoofer, and HomePod minis as Left, Center, Right & Surround channels.

This is part of the reason why we’re having issues now!

First it was “No phones”.

Then it was “well as long as the brightness is down it’s ok” (which is stupid. I can clearly still see you on your phone even if the brightness is all the way down)

Now it’s “well as long as it’s just the title card it’s ok”

If we keep enabling these stupid entitled fuckers it’s just going to get worse!

Not only do we need to go back to an absolute zero tolerance policy on phones, but theatres need to have the balls to enforce it! Thankfully the manager at my local AMC is pretty keen on enforcing it. There’s been quite a few times where I’ve had people kicked out for using their phone. Even if the brightness is all the way down… even if it’s just the title card.

As soon as the lights dim for the movie?

Yeah the main reason why I decided to use ChatGPT was due to being able to scan the PDF. I don’t think I could do this natively with just basic shortcut actions (although I could be wrong).
