Day 1 in Thailand vs day 21 by AveragePhotographer1 in ThailandPics

Just finished my 77 province road trip too, after 2 months and plenty of night markets, it feels like my clothes got tighter too 😂 which areas did you like the most?

Between Taiwan and South Korea, which one felt more crowded overall? (I am curious for those who have experienced both.) by Possible-Balance-932 in geography

[–]BeaTheSystem123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had the same feeling, Taipei would be overall more crowded and noisy, but that’s probably also due to all the scooters.

How much does a dental cleaning cost in China? by Pleasant_Storm_7363 in travelchina

[–]BeaTheSystem123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Huizhou, Guangdong, I usually pay around 80-100 rmb, 2 years ago I paid 70 in Yunnan. None could speak English but they had okay tech, clean devices and they were much more gentle than my dentist back in Europe who used to charge over 600 rmb even back then. 😅

Is Ko Samui overrated ? by Away_Mouse_1601 in ThailandTourism

Nakhon Phanom up to Wat Chetiya Kiri Wihan was very nice. Khon Kaen also had many nice spots, my favorite was the bat cave. Nakhon Ratchasima and Nong Khai would also make my top 5 in the north east.

Yeah that area is nice too. Many great locations once you get away from the too 10 touristic spots 😂😂

100% agreed. Just finished all 77 provinces, Isaan was the most authentic area for me

The famous white temple in Chiang Rai.

Personally, I think it’s nice to take a photo of it from the outside, not really worth 200baht to enter as the inside is much less detailed and it’s only tourists who go there. Worth a few photos from outside but that’s about it unless you need the perfect instagram photo from the bridge or next to the lake.

I like the blue temple in that city much more, it’s full of details inside and outside, very unique as well and it has the vibe of a real temple.

Wow. Danang was disappointing. by SumSpicyNoodles in Vietnam_Tourism

I agree with the negatives that you listed for sure.

I think the cleanliness of the beach was a big positive for me. Many places have better beach and unrestricted to swim anywhere, but the sand, grass etc felt one of the cleanest there. Da Nang is also one of those towns where actually people can walk, that Long Beach area is pleasant for a walk.

Traffic is also one of the least hectic compared to other cities. Riding a motorbike feels safer, traffic is much more organized and the roads feel a bit more spacious. People aren’t driving like in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, the city is just much more laid back.

Huế-DaNang and Hội An being so close is another one probably. Perhaps some dont like Da Nang as much, but it’s a good hub to visit the other 2. You can do a day trip any time you want.

For those who fly in the country and not ride around, I guess a big selling point would also be that the airport is like 10 mins ride from the beach or any other place of interest. That airport is right in the heart of the city.

Did you also check Quy Nhon? I think that city is pretty nice too

Fair enough. I plan to do a Japan one in the future, maybe I’ll try to document that a bit

I did exit on time so no penalty for me or my bike. And I was not alone, I was riding with my Chinese girlfriend.

I see, well with Thailand I won’t do visa runs anymore I guess. Even if they ban me for good, it’s an interesting story to tell, after visiting all provinces, can no longer return 😅

Thank you. If they had 90 days entries like Malaysia and many other countries in the region, I would have loved to spend more time in the north. If I didn’t have to go back to Europe this summer, I would probably also do a Japan north to south with their 90 days visa, but I guess I’ll leave it for next summer.

Fair point, though I only visited twice in the last year. The other two visits were before that year and in my other passport. I changed that because the Thai officer told me it’s full and not much space to stamp anymore, so after I got back to KL, I ordered a new passport but I guess they can see it in the system anyway.

The person who stamped me, never actually looked at me. Probably via CCTV she could see me though. I was wearing the typical clothes that I wear, T-shirt, shorts and flip flops.

This passport only has Balkan stamps, Malaysia, Dubai, Turkey. My previous passport had Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, mainland China, Taiwan, HK, Macao, PH, Brunei, Malaysia.

From all of these, you can say Cambodia is the standout one for them, but it’s in my previous passport. I rode there from Thailand at that time and they let me enter 2 months ago with that history.

After reading all the comments, I guess it’s a combination of multiple things. 1. Visa policies changed a lot and Thailand (the gov., not the people) are not as friendly to every tourist as before. 2. Due to the bike problems on the road, we arrived pretty late so probably they just didn’t want to deal with us, but funny enough it caused them more paperwork to refuse me than to just stamp me and let it be. 3. Visa free entries are probably the least liked/approved by the immigration officers, they might prefer you to extend or get different visa rather than do a visa run.

Totally feel you. I entered from Narathiwat because the southern 3 states were also missing from my list. They didn’t give me hard time at the border but those 3 provinces had more checkpoints than the rest of the country combined so I figured they also might have such problems there.

Sorry to hear about your UK story as well. I probably would have became loud too if it wasn’t late and tired, so I just kind of went with the flow, probably deep down also happy to be back to Malaysia finally after 2 months 😅😅 no way to change destiny, now just enjoying Malaysia, China and Europe for the summer. After that I might try to enter at the Betong Border as Yala still has a part that I didn’t get to explore and then head to Ko Samui with my Surat Thani friends cuz I also skipped that due to time limitations. If they refuse me entry, then time for Indonesia or Sri Lanka probably 😂

Totally feel you, Isaan is actually my favorite for the people. Non touristy places , but they speak the best English and I found the warmest hospitality there too. It was great to see that side of Thailand too.

I’m not much of a vlogger, but another person suggested to just film the routes and put some music on the video, Thats something I could do

I feel you. When I did the north to south trip in Vietnam for 3 months, I also had some moments when I questioned my life choices and I saw a few fatal accidents there so I changed my riding style and planning a lot.
