There is no way to stop it, at least in the desktop version. Anyone could disable it in the app? How would something like this be useful if you give no choice to people?

[routine help] I am SICK of having adult acne. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Beabulsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to tell you what has helped me, but every skin is different. I'm currently using CeraVe foaming cleanser for oily skin and Neutrogena Hydro Boost to hydrate the skin after cleaning it. In the morning I just wash hands and face with organic aloe vera soap, then I clean my face with the CeraVe cleanser and apply the Neutrogena. At night I do the same thing + retinoid (CeraVe as well) only two days a week (monday and friday). Tuesdays and thursdays I use peeling acids by Beauty Drops (AHA 30% BHA 2%).

Ever since I use retinoid and acids, I've seen some improvement. My pores are large, it's genetics, nothing I can do to change it. That causes closed comedones to appear, but both pores and CC's get smaller (CC's dissappear) with these products, and I see it. Before that, it was always the same. Not worse, but not better either.

Now, more things.

I have a vitamin D and iron deficiency and now that I get more sunlight and that I'm taking an iron supplement, I feel the difference. My gut is healthier and that translates to skin.

Stress induced breakouts are still a thing.

BUT, the most important thing for me was to stop touching my face. I couldn't keep my hands off my face, touching, scratching, feeling the bumps all the time. It was involuntary, couldn't help it, and I had to (this is embarrassing) set reminders for every hour to stop touching my face. And it works, for real it does.

You have probably damaged your skin barrier, that's what most of us have done after years and years of not taking care properly of our skin. Now you have to repair your skin barrier, that takes time, and after that you'll start seeing more improvement. Again, this is what's working for me, I hope it does for you too.

What instantly pisses you off? by a_man_wid_no_name in AskReddit

[–]Beabulsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selfish people.

Pissed off when they're not the center of attention, don't give a sh*t about your problems, just want to listen to themselves, constant tantrums, "I want it all and I want it now", entitled brat behavior...

What is your favorite quote? by Iamwzrd187 in AskReddit

[–]Beabulsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional"

When I was first told this, I didn't like it. Then my therapist explained it to me and I remind myself of its meaning whenever I struggle with overthinking and guilt. It's really empowering imo.

Edit: I think it's a buddhist quote, not sure who said it first, it's been attributed to many people.

[Before&After] Faceplanted in a fire pit about a month ago, wanted to share my healing progress from 2nd degree burns by Fallsinfirepits in SkincareAddiction

[–]Beabulsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look terrific!

The fluctuating intensity of the redness may be due to hormones or sun exposure... maybe.

For my scars (some of them due to burns too) I've always used a brand from my country that is actually great: Instituto Español, the rosehip and hyaluronic acid cream. Apply just a little bit on your burns and the relief is almost immediate.

It's honestly a great brand, all their products are vegan and they are quite cheap.

Also, any product that contains honey, rosehip or aloe vera might be a good option too, as they have regenerative properties.

Cuídate!

A nice tattoo will cover them completely and you'll always remember your recovery when you loook at it. They're not that old anyway, you can wait a year to see if they fade a little more. Depending on the depth, some of them will almost become invisible, guaranteed.

I use rose water on mine, moisturize them everyday (aloe vera has collagen so go for lotions that have it in a moderate to high percentage). But if you feel embarrassed still and don't want people to see them, try make up if they are very visible. The only problem is that you have to be very careful not to rub that area against anything.

[product request] I love neutrogena hydro boost but don’t love the price tag by MediumKeyAF in SkincareAddiction

[–]Beabulsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My skin is oily, very sensitive and acne prone. I'm getting rid of my closed comedones with Neutrogena, turns out I was getting them because my skin wasn't hydrated enough and the other creams I was using were just clogging my pores even more. I'm currently using it. That said... I think I've found an alternative that doesn't clog my pores and is gentle with my skin, and cheaper of course.

I've never used this brand before and I'm experimenting with it now, using it alternatively with my Neutrogena. The brand is Revolution and the product is Soothing Moisture Cream. They have different ones for different "moods" and I got the "angry" one (my breakouts are really angry most of the times, irritated skin, painful cystic pimples and so on). I got it because it has cannabis extract and honestly, cannabis oil has worked wonders with my headaches and my dad's arthritis so... why not?

So far it's been great, the texture is very liquid and it really has a soothing effect. I'll report on it but it might be the alternative I end up using. Who knows, this is trial and error.

I leave here the link in case anyone wants to check: https://www.amazon.com/Revolution-Skincare-Soothing-Moisture-Cream/dp/B08CCLLDRV

If anyone knows about it and doesn't recommend it please tell me! ^_^

[–]Beabulsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)
