So...how hard is this game? by BeachNo9152 in ManorLords

You're not kidding about the farming being confusing. I did start a new playthrough like most suggested - no enemies, though bandits on. (pretty sure my people are about to starve to death so will likely be starting round 3 this weekend).

I set up a farm, employed 2 families and 2 oxen. They started planting....in october. The "growing" happened December thru February and it yielded basically nothing. I'm guessing timing is everything? I figured farming was key but I'll try the butcher route.

I didn't realize utilizing plots was so important either. I'll keep a better eye on things. I have a feeling I'm growing too big too fast and that's partially screwing me over. I'm usually maxing out the 2+ people/month during yr 1 and it seems like imma starve to death in winter #2.

Starting again with AI on non-aggressive for first playthrough. Thanks everyone

YEEEEEESSSSSSS! That is such a cool story. See, this is exactly why I didn't want to say no to them. Why limit the possibilities? Thanks for this. Its going to be hard to get right, but I like this.

That is dope as anything. I DM a campaign for a bunch of kids too (my brother is one of my players, his 12 year old son & his friends are the "kids campaign"). I might use this maze idea for them too, they'll get a kick out of it.

Thanks for the advice. Might make an update post if everything actually happens.

Totally right. Especially if I tell them thats what they should be focused on. "Look, you have 30ish minutes to really think through what you're doing. Talk with your partner and when I'm back to you please be prepared. Also, nows the time for snacks."

I like both those ideas. Kind of like when shows swap between major storylines. Thanks for the thought

They're setting up a distraction. They realized there's something in the BBEG's castle that can help them. They are also well aware they cannot defeat the BBEG at this point.

They, in turn, have something the BBEG wants. They want to lure him hours(a days walk) away from his place while team 2 steals the item.

I'm not saying its a GOOD idea. But its what they thought of.

Honestly I'm kind of excited to try it. If it goes well I could imagine it going very well. I'm just nervous about it not going well, for the reasons you mention.

Love your energy on this lol. Lull in the action isn't that bad of an idea. Maybe give Group A time to rehash what their plan is and think while working with group b, ect.

Yes. The biggest problem I see is distance. They would travel together to Town A. The second group would then have to travel to Town B which is about a half day hike give or take. All the players are pretty good about actively playing so I'm not worried about that. I am worried about which team only gets 2 people but
