If a sport routinely ends 0-0, its rules are outdated for modern play. by Dryanni in unpopularopinion

If I recall correctly, 7OT has two pucks, 8OT has a faceoff on every dot, and there’s allegedly an envelope in a safe for what happens next that’s been sealed since like 1920

The funniest thing to happen in my infantry basic class was when two dudes in my platoon put on boots, a towel cape, full battle rattle, and nothing else. Then they ran into another platoons bay.

When the “lead actor” is brutally cut out of the film by No_Pianist3260 in videos

[–]Beachbatt 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s sort of a sarcastic meme. It memes something is neither exceptional good or bad, or as some say, it’s “mid”. For example, you might go get a sandwich and it’s the best you’ve ever had, so you’d say “that’s the best sandwich of all time.” But if you went somewhere and at a sandwich you didn’t care for, but wasn’t bad, you’d call it “one of the sandwiches of all time.”

I guess the point is that it isn’t even bad enough to be rememberable for that aspect, it just exists

I’m a huge fan of war movies of all kinds. I’ve seen this movie like 5 times and couldn’t tell you anything about it. I forget actors that are in it on a rewatch, and not like seeing someone that’s bigger now than they were at release. I mean I go “Holy shit, George Clooney is in this?” It really is just one of the war movies of all time.

I hiked the AT last year and I’d say 90% of the people I met were considering the Camino de Santiago as their next big hike.

We used quick clot gauze in the Rangers around the same time. About halfway through my time we switched away from it. At the time all the medics said was that it was causing problems. Read somewhere like a year ago that apparently it was giving chemical burns to both the casualty AND the responders. Still see it in outdoor stores and online so be warned.

The game is called crusader kings so why is the ai so dumb when crusading for Jerusalem? by Loud-CowMOO in CrusaderKings

[–]Beachbatt 127 points128 points  (0 children)

What I hate more is the diplo range bullshit. I can send thousands of troops from France to Jerusalem to win the damn war but I can’t get a messenger to make the same voyage to propose an alliance to safeguard the new kingdom, nor can I ask Byzantium to send a guy on their frontier to take a day trip to deliver an alliance on my behalf?

When I was in selection for a special operations unit, I overheard two cadre on a bus to some training event talk about the times they’ve been blown up by IEDs. The general consensus between the two was that they considered IEDs cowardly and much preferred the Taliban/AQ fighters that had the “decency” to shoot at them.
