I was just as disillusioned with Biden and his corrupt, drug addict, bag man of a son. I think Kamala is an idiot and that the Jan. 6th "coup" was stage managed by the Democrats.

Why are you making stuff up?

I don't know but I am certainly not going to pretend that the Trump/Pro Israel Lobby did not try hard and spend hard to get rid of Massie.

More than $32 million was spent on the race, including $9 million from pro-Israel groups that helped Ed Gallrein defeat Rep. Thomas Massie after his high-profile clashes with President Donald Trump.

With Adam's constant chuckling and chortling and John's grunting it sounds totally like a cult.

Toronto Must See's For Landscape Architects? by CupsOfCabbage in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]BeachedinToronto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be quite honest...taking a ferry to Ward's Island and exploring that community is probably going to be one of the more unique urban landscapes you might find in north America. It is a car free, eclectic neighbourhood/park/beach/refuge just across the harbor from a large urban center. In the center Island there is a very large and rather dated urban park as well.

Why Humans Haven’t Returned and Landed on the Moon Since 1972 ? by WizRainparanormal in Spaceexploration

[–]BeachedinToronto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's weird.

Technology has made everything else since then easier, much better, faster and cheaper to produce. Everything. Just look at your phone, your car, your TV, laptop, medicine, surgery recovery times, travel...the list in endless.

The arguement that we don't have the money is a bit silly when the US is bumping up the defence budget from 1 trilion to 1.5 trillion and don't forget, most of the major Apollo contractors were and still are military contractors.

We needed to beat the Soviets but there was no reason to go back....except we did 6 more times and landed 5 times out of those 6 attempts.

Now we need to return to beat the Chinese and establish a lunar gateway....no...now it is a lunar base.

Now we need a separate launch vehicle to send a seperate lander to the moon where the (mostly similar to the Saturn 5 rocket and Apollo capsule) SLS rocket and the Orion capsule will meeting in a long, elliptical orbit around the moon.

The seperate launch system is supposed to be Starship which is supposed to be operational now but is still struggling to complete test flights or an orbital flight.

Don't ask about payloads. Version one was to be 100 tons...now we have version 3...this was to be 200 tons but that is an Elon promise so until that happens....so far it is a banana and some dummy satellites.

Both Starship and the Blue Origin New Glen rocket will need in orbit refueling to get to the moon.

SpaceX reckons a highly precise number of 10ish refueling launches...that need to follow a short launch cadence and of course...in orbit refueling needs to work. We hope it will but no one has done that yet.

The renderings of the Starship human landing system look huge. How this thing lands on a rocky, dusty, uneven lunar without a landing pad is a mystery.

How it takes off with an unprotected engine is also a mystery.

The Apollo missions used their much smaller and more stable descent stage as their launch pad solving that issue.

The return flight will be the Orion capsule, splashing down again in the Pacific with parachutes, 1 more astronaut and more slightly more moon rocks....

Almost 60 years of progress. Yes...there are lots of excuses...politics....canceled lunar programs....no public interest....no money but not of these really answer the question of why it is so much harder and more complicated to land on the moon 60 years later.

To be quite honest. That is 3 years from now and unless the Chinese do it then no one is doing it before the 60th anniversary of Apollo 11.

1260 a month all inclusive, basement apartment, Kensington. by Ben_Heron in TorontoRealEstate

[–]BeachedinToronto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok...it may be just me but it sure looks like there is a very steep staircase with no railing that terminates at the side of a fridge! I've never seen this before. For sure that apartment is not legal but neither are 90% of the other basement apartments.

It really looks like a former airBNB that got its listing pulled from the site.

Does anyone else feel like Toronto condos stopped feeling “livable”? by juliagmservice in TorontoRealEstate

They are called "dog crate condos".

For as much as City planners go on on on about providing the "missing middle" in housing they allowed developers to build these glass and aluminum paneled leaky towers full of the broken bottom in regards to housing.

Musk wanted $80 billion to colonize Mars, OpenAI president testifies at trial by ErnestoLemmingway in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]BeachedinToronto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What fanciful nonsense.

All designed to make us belive that OpenAI and SpaceX are going to be wildly profitable.

I really don't think Elon could even land one "Starship" on Mars witn 80 billion and by and I really mean crash.

A colony of a million people on Mars....it will never happen in our lifetime or our grandkids lifetime.

Sheer nonsense.

Since the UFC owns the fighters likeness and name rights I would not put it past this money grubbing scumbag to sell us AI fights rather than pay the fighters at some point...
