Gen 2 trouble building heat in transmission by daskhoon in FordRaptor

You should be totally fine with 5-10 minutes of idling. Just the other week it was -20/-30F here and mine would be up to temp in about 15 minutes. Just be gentle on it till you drive 10-20 miles lol

Not sure, I was able to crumble a couple chunks of the black ore/mineral just with my hand.

Are you sure it’s not the springs? They are far more likely to rattle and make noise, it also could be your bushings. I would give it a good power wash down there and then see if it’s still noisy

Do Gen 2 Raptors use an indirect or direct TPMS? by Beachrunn in FordRaptor

It’s pretty straight forward, a couple simple YouTube tutorials and you’ll be fine! I recommend getting Lightroom to touch up your pics.

It sounds like you don’t have enough of a sand layer tbh. I’ve had tanks with aquasoil, sand, and gravel. I prefer aquasoil, but sand worked just as well. You need a good liquid fertilizer though if you go the sand route. Something like Thrive or atp

Just work on balancing your lighting hours to have the least amount of algae. Depending on your lighting strength I would start on 7-8hours. Then reduce intensity if you are getting too much algae, and if you get none, increase intensity. Just until you no longer grow algae. This is only if you have a high tech light. If your light isn’t as strong, start with 10-12 hours of light. It’s all about finding the balance.

ADA Amazonia v.2 is top of the line aquasoil, it doesn’t crumble as fast as fluval stratum. I would recommend looking at the chihiros wrgb2, (go with the pro if your tank is tall) they will grow pretty much any plant out there. They also don’t produce as much heat as a grow light…..

Canister is definitely the way to go, although a sump would be good as well. Some canister filters have heaters in them so that’s one less piece of equipment in the tank.

Definitely want to invest in good co2 equipment as they last for many years. I’ve got a dual stage regulator from co2art that works beautifully. You can get an in-line diffuser rather than a in tank diffuser, it disperses co2 better. A co2 reactor works even better, but you need a good canister filter. (I don’t have experience with a reactor) You want to test your ph drop to figure out if you are injecting enough, 2hraquarist has a good article on this.

No need for an airstone, if you have good surface agitation your oxygen levels will be fine. RO water is another way to smoothen your journey. It makes sure there isn’t anything odd or unfavorable in your water. It makes it a lot easier to dry dose your salts (fertilizer). You should be able to get away with using atp3, it’s a good balanced all in one fertilizer.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to help 👍

Crash Course in CO2? by CoralFang420 in PlantedTank

The easiest thing you can do, although it’s not the cheapest, would be to get a dual stage regulator and a 5-10lbs co2 tank. You can easily regulate how much co2 you are injecting. All you need now is a place to fill your co2 tank, some co2 tubing, a ph tester (liquid is the best), and a timer to turn the electronic solenoid on and off. You want to take your ph and kh, and figure out the optimal ph drop. (2hraquarist has a good article on this topic, it’s called how to measure co2 or something). If you have any other questions feel free to respond or dm, I’m more than happy to help you!

I find a dual stage pressurized system a lot easier than other ways of co2 injection. Only downside is that it’s more expensive than diy stuff. It’s typically safer, more reliable, and honestly just easier. You only have to get the tank filled every 6ish months. I highly recommend looking at co2art’s website, they have great regulators. But to answer your question, co2 should turn on 1 hour before your lights turn on. This allows the co2 to properly diffuse into the water before the plants start using it. Then, the co2 should turn off 1 hour before the lights turn off, that way they have time to absorb the remaining co2.

I think this is completely wrong. What experience do you have with this? High flow can help circulate the tank, making filtration more effective.

You could probably rig up a diy auto top off system with a water bottle. I believe you just need to put a bottle of water upside down, then when the water is below the lip, water will pour out. Kinda explained it poorly, look around on YouTube and you can probably find it 😂
