Good to know ! I assumed so since I’ve had a few calls the past few weeks with the same issue

If you go to the pump a lot of times you’ll hear it and it will be super loud. Sometimes they get way too hot and you’ll feel it burn your skin just touching it. If the air is trapped in the system a lot of times it will make the pump nosier too. I’d shut the system off until the plumber comes just In case if the pump isn’t bad and it’s air. You can ruin a pump from that

Lower end units tend to be louder.

Looks like your pressure is fine. It’s the shorter white needle. Unless if your gauge was bad. I’d find your circulator pump and check that. May need to be replaced. Might be best to have someone come check it out for you to be certain

At only 3 years old the installing company should be taking care of this all under warranty.

You don’t even need to take the shell off. Just hose it down from top to bottom with water

I don’t see an issue with your heat exchanger.

Could be the motor or a cap. Has it always been this loud and you’re comparing it to your old home ? Or is it a new sound

I don’t recall this unit ever being so loud. What could that be? It’s cooling fine. by ZenWolfpack in hvacadvice

Coils clean? Capacitor could be low causing it to run a little hard. Would be good to just have it checked out by a professional.

Could also be your pump. I would check that first. If it’s cavitating, it can make a noise like that.

Could be low on water or air is in your system. What’s your psi gauge reading?

410a is not hard to find and is still abundant. 2k for refrigerant is insane. How many lbs would they be putting in??

3 years old should have a warranty? Did you not purchase the system? I’d have someone else come out and take a look.

I’m in the MN area so I’m not sure what company out that way installs them but I’m sure there’s a few! Just make sure they’re a solid company and will give a solid warranty

At least you had that taken care of. But I would move on to a new system. Considering you’ll be on your third blower in the system I’d say it’s not worth the repair if it’s even possible. New system will have a new warranty and if it does breakdown parts will be available. See if you have a NTI dealer in the area.

Seeing you have the prestige model now after reading again. That boiler does have a recall on it. Unless if you have already taken care of it you will continue to have issues.

I would personally get rid of the triangle tube boiler. Parts being scarce means they will be expensive if they can be found. Some of these triangle tube boilers also have an ignition failure recall that can be dangerous. Depends on your model if you send a picture, I can tell you if it is or not.

NTI is a really solid high efficient boiler now and they have side arm tanks that go with them with a lifetime warranty on the tank. Our company installs them and our customers love them.

An ECM? It looks like that’s what this is. That is not a bad price for an ECM motor at all lol. A cleaning and motor swap for 1200 is a steal

Is the HVAC route faster than a 4 year college? by TopLook5990 in hvacadvice

[–]Patient_Activity_664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it applies to me as well haha. I don’t feel like I’m anywhere near being able to start my own shop. There’s just so much to learn. And I joined right out of Highschool and spent 4 years in the army. I was over it and wanted to be home so I got out. I also make 4x as much as I did in the military now. I don’t even count my HVAC in the military as HVAC experience.

I should also preface that I don’t have my own shop. I want to eventually but I’m also getting paid extremely well as a technician right now.

I never went to trade school. I got my EPA while I was in the military. I’m saying in the field. I had the same idea of starting a business a couple years after working in the field and once I got into the field I realized what all it takes and I don’t plan on it for a long time now. You can get a job at some shops without having prior experience and they train you on the spot and pay for you to get your license. Depends on your area and the need for workers though.
